Watch the speech she gave in North Carolina today. It was really good.

EDIT: A mosquito cloud of BOTS have descended onto this thread. Beware!
That makes too much sense to work in American politics.
man what a plot twist from 2 years ago if a couple months from now we’re calling Harris madam President-Elect
she wouldn’t be my first choice, but when compared to trump/vance it’s a no brainer.
that being said, if you thought Republicans lost their mind because we had a black man as president. just wait untill we got an “angry” black woman as president.
if it happens she should take Stacey Abrams as her VP pick. just watch the republicans heads explode.
Let’s see that **HARRIS/KELLY** ticket.
Mark Kelly eats J.D. Vance in a VP matchup.
Like it or not, she is the only candidate that can immediately inherit Biden’s campaign infrastructure and money. An open convention is a romantic hallucination. An open convention not only would divide the party even more so than Biden releasing his delegates to Harris, but it would leave whatever candidate received the plurality of delegates some 75 days to form a national campaign, erect state offices, and raise hundreds of millions of dollars. Harris could begin campaigning nationally tomorrow with a $200+ million war chest.
most of the other 21% will come around when they think for half a minute about what the election in 2028 would look like with Vance in the Capitol instead of Pence
Watch her speech today and make up your own mind: https://www.youtube.com/live/EJKkR8O8hVA?si=Qv15gu6b4Wgc9aXl
(And check out the comments. Yes, there are prob a lot of bots, but far from all)
Whitmer/Shapiro. Go for MI, WI, & PA. That wins the election. Nothing against Harris.
Is there anyone who would vote for Biden but wouldn’t vote for the person running as his replacement if he dropped out?
I’ll vote for Kamala. I voted for her and Joe last time.
I think my wife was included in this poll. They straight up asked if she would approve of Harris being the nominee about a week ago.
– Getting a woman president elected is hard
– Getting a non-white president elected is hard
– What did she do as a VP besides fade into the background?
This is not looking good imo, not the smartest candidate in an election that can’t be lost.
Isn’t she insanely unpopular? This doesn’t seem smart.
It’s the non-Democrats you need to worry about attracting
These sorts of polls are really misleading. I’ll bet 79% of Democrats would still vote for Biden if he ran.
I’ll vote Biden.
I’ll vote Harris.
I’ll vote Newsom.
I’ll vote Whitmer.
I’ll vote Kelly.
Hell yeah, they’re all great! The wording is also misleading on purpose. The poll is asking if you would vote for Harris if Biden were to voluntarily step aside. It didn’t ask if they wanted Biden to be replaced with Harris, as the title implies.
Breaking down the results, only 28% of respondents thought Harris had a better chance of beating Trump. 24% thought she had a worse chance. The rest has no idea.
Harris will get the Clinton treatment in right wing media. They lost their shit with a black man in office.. couldn’t put a white woman over the finish line… can we actually believe a black woman has a chance? Not being snarky… I’m truly concerned Harris is the wrong choice at this time.
This feels like Hillary all over again -.-
Once again a poll that doesn’t ask about any alternatives and tries to cherry pick the results.
The poll also showed that only 29% of Independents want her versus 46% that say she shouldn’t be the nominee, that she has a 36% approval rating, the majority said they would feel uneasy with her leading international affairs, only a whopping 30% think she has the temperament to be president, and
Oh yeah
Almost a third of her own party thinks she would have a worst shot against Trump than Biden.
But sure run with the headline that she’s approved by 79% of Democrats.
Is that number good or bad? Also, does it even matter if they _approve_? Isn’t it far more important that they _vote_?
I need to see her against Whitmer, Newsom, Kelly and whoever else first.
Does she actually have a chance to beat them?
Who cares if the Dems support her? Dummies. This is about the independent swing voters. Choose wisely, Dems. Please don’t fvck this up like you always do.
Another reminder that Reddit does not represent real life.
The Dems will support Biden’s skeleton… what about independents?
79 percent of “DEMOCRATS” pick her but it says nothing about independents. And if any of those 31 percent choose not to show up you have a Sanders/Hillary split ticket again. This is not the win everyone thinks it is.
How does she poll with independents? That’s my biggest worry.
If Harris is on the ticket this might be the first time in a while Democrats lose the popular vote.
No freaking way Dems prefer Kamala over Joe, she has a lower general approval rating and people still don’t see her as a compassionate person yet. She hasn’t been in the spotlight enough to build up a strong argument for her to be a good prez, right now she’s just not old. Is that enough?
She was 2nd to dead last in 2020.
Jesus fucking christ no one is campaigning harder for Trump than the DNC.
No they don’t. They’re willing to vote for her, hut most of us know she’s a losing candidate.
It’d be really great if the Dems would stop trying to tell us what to think. We’re not republicans, we don’t work that way.
Harris doesn’t have a shot
Sad to say but this is not the time to try to run her for president. It doesn’t matter that she’d get 80% of the Dem votes. She needs to get 110% of the Dem votes and poll substantially better versus Trump, or it doesn’t matter one iota.
She’d be a problematic choice. She [made](https://www.latimes.com/politics/story/2019-10-24/kamala-harris-california-crime) [her](https://www.latimes.com/politics/story/2019-10-24/kamala-harris-california-crime) [career](https://www.npr.org/2020/10/13/923369723/lets-talk-about-kamala-harris) on [locking](https://www.nytimes.com/2020/10/20/magazine/kamala-harris-crime-prison.html) up [thousands of young black men](https://prospect.org/justice/how-kamala-harris-fought-to-keep-nonviolent-prisoners-locked-up/) in California under the ’94 crime bill and folks don’t forget that kind of thing.
That said, I’d still vote for her. I’d vote for a German Shepard over trump.
Ill vote for a ham sandwich if it ran against Trump IDGAF. I support Biden and whatever he chooses I’m with him all the way. Same with Harris if she is nominated.
This makes me incredibly nervous as, anidocitally, I know more old Democratic men who are now Trump supporters because the 2016 DNC nomination and the current VP were/are women. The vitriol they felt at the audacity of a woman politician in such positions of power made them go full MAGA.
I seriously doubt she appeals to swing-state voters anymore than Hillary did.
This seems misleading. I don’t approve of Kamala. I’d never approve of Kamala if I had options, but I don’t have a choice if I want to elect a Democrat president this cycle.
She’ll get slaughtered just as bad as he does doesn’t matter as much as I hate saying that. As it stands I’m blue no matter who though
I think it’s practically decided, they are just waiting for the right time to drop the news for maximum impact.
Harris would lose horribly to Trump. She was polling pretty low in 2020, and that isn’t going to improve. Whitmer would be a much better pick. That being said, I expect the Democratic Party to support her and we end up with Hillary all over again.
Anyone advocating that Kamala becomes the nominee is in a bubble and totally unaware they are.
Part of it is, A significant portion of the country is not voting a minority woman in as President. No matter what. Its fucked up, i dont agree with it, but its reality.
The other part is:
Independent voters, who are always important in actually *winning*, value policy over party loyalty.
Kamala is a major flip flopper. Her views and policy prior to becoming VP are at odds with her current views. This does not reflect well to the average independent voter.
She has absolutely zero chance of winning vs Trump in 2024.
The dems need to run a moderate candidate to have any chance of winning this late in the game.
Trotting Kamala out isn’t an election. Its an execution.
Do not put another unpopular woman against Trump for fucks sake.
