Too bad. I’m angry that it’s a choice between you and Trump again.

I understand that maybe this doesn’t feel fair to him. I get that he wanted to have two terms, and maybe he genuinely believed he was up for it. But he’s not, and he shouldn’t take his anger about it out on the American people by hand delivering them a 2nd Trump term.
I’m angry you, your family, and your advisors covered up that you couldn’t speak off teleprompter for the last 9 months and deprived us of an actual primary to find the best candidate to beat Trump. You betrayed your own message with your pride, Joe.
Just tell him it’s already been 8 years
Thats too bad. We’re not playing a football game and you’re getting left on the bench. This is our future. Stop fucking around.
Love the man but he dug himself into this hole. Just because we’re not willing to go down with the ship doesn’t mean we don’t think he did an amazing job. It’s just over. We need to do whatever we can to beat Trump. We can’t be the party of cult like loyalty. That’s their thing.

Did Biden really expect people to join him on this death march of a campaign that’s likely headed for a huge defeat?
Well, that’s what happens when you tell voters you’re a one term president and then decide you’d like to just fuck that, I’m going for round two, whippersnappers.
I am so sick and tired of how much this story has been published citing anonymous sources.
Unless you are willing to put your name on the info, I don’t believe a bit of it.
I haven’t followed this in detail except for seeing the headlines but has anyone come out and openly said it? Or is it all just rumors and messages being passed down? I wonder how much of if is just noise created by news media and republican party.
I can’t say I blame him. A lot of us have dealt with some shade of this talk, convincing an elderly relative it’s time to step down. This has all that plus the high stakes of the most important job in the world.
Should Biden step aside and the shakeup leads to a big Democratic turnaround, a very real possibility, he could set himself up for an enduring legacy. His appeal was restoring dignity to the office, echoing the most unimpeachable high mark of Washington’s presidency in the decision to relinquish power would cement that forever.
Gotta feel for the guy considering they turned on him weeks before the convention- despite having 4 years to talk to him about it; so stupid that they let it get to this point
If they don’t go with Kamala, that seals it for trump imo. Anyone else has to start and run a campaign in 3 months plus I don’t think black voters would appreciate Harris being skipped over like that. My Latino people can’t be counted on, too many morons who think trump likes them 🥲
>“Can we all just remember for a minute that these same people who are trying to push Joe Biden out are the same people who literally gave us all Donald Trump? In 2015, Obama, Pelosi, Schumer pushed Biden aside in favor of Hillary; they were wrong then, and they are wrong now,” the source told NBC News.
Their source sounds unhinged.
If he steps aside gracefully, Biden will be rightfully celebrated for setting aside his own ego for the good of our democracy. He led a successful Presidency and passing the torch will be a crowning achievement.
It’s a far bigger and more significant legacy than achieved by most politicians.
I think he did a good job these past 4 years, but he’s too old to wrangle voters and fight trump. Nothing personal, but he can’t win.
Voters feel betrayed that Biden and his aides haven’t done the right thing and stepped aside much sooner
Nobody WANTED to put Joe out to pasture like this, he’s forcing their hand by refusing to do it on his own
He literally said “watch me” to all of us after he and his team demanded an early debate on their terms. We did. We did and it was awful. Then two weeks passed with nothing to stop the bleeding. I don’t know what hey expected? Everyone would just sit in the burning room with him and his campaign and immolate?
You did a good job as president, you beat Trump when we really needed it. Please don’t fuck us all because of pride. We need someone with a fighting chance of beating Trump.
Oh jfc. He’s losing the race. Trump is an existential threat. This isn’t personal. How does he not understand this? Its not complicated.
I hate it for him but damn son…
how much did he and his team think they could keep under wraps. he’s been a good potus but is hurting the party by running for reelection this diminished.
People want a new choice.

This guy has to stop taking all this so personal. The job is President of the. United States. It’s not leader of the boy’s night bingo club.
I feel somewhat bad for Biden. He did pretty much everything right as a dem president but his age and condition is a bigger issue than he can accept
I don’t think Harris, as the only alternative, has a shot, the same “moderates” that Biden is losing will be too sexist to vote for a woman, and they will be disgusted by a women of color, I would love to be proven wrong however.
Imagine how he will feel if he is replaced and the replacement loses
Nobody owes Joe Biden a damn thing. He is a public servant. He happens to be one that did a good job, but also one that got too old to the job.
How is the media so focused on biden’s issues when we have the total insanity of trump’s speech tonight. If the media can’t adequately attack what he says, just roll the tapes! Show the crazy! Ugh.
This is Ruth Bader Ginsburg all over again. Pure vanity.
I can’t believe people think the party won’t chew itself apart trying to leverage 4 or 5 different candidates to the top of the ticket and fail to put a single one.
My favorite thing about this is for how long, for so very long, people kept saying Bidens old age and mental state wasn’t an issue. For over a year now democrats had been denying the conservative claim that Biden isn’t fit to be a leader anymore. Here, and on twitter you had many people in denial. All it took was one bad debate to finally make people see just how bad it really is. Falling off the bike and plane steps wasn’t enough. The stuttering wasn’t enough. The slow movements and confusion when exiting stages wasn’t enough. The talking about dead people as if they were alive wasn’t enough. But finally this recent Debate against Trump made the Dems see just how poor of a choice pushing Biden as the Dem nominee is, and now that the Dems are saying suddenly all of Reddit is agreeing.
I’ll ride with Joe if he stays in. I’ll back Harris. I have to admit I do like an old pissed of stutterer who knows WTF he’s doing running against ol blubber sudes
I understand that Biden looked really bad in that first debate. My concern is with the Dem Party, and them running around like a headless chicken, and airing all their dirty laundry in public. But should Biden get replaced, the Party very well should fall in line, unified, and back whatever the ticket is.
They’ll also need Biden to support whoever the replacement is as well, because you know if he doesn’t the Republicans will be all over that shit. They’ll state even Sleepy Joe knows the new ticket sucks. That the Dems would publicly antagonize Joe doesn’t help.
Democrat leaders following the money.
I love the “oh, everything will be all right once we get rid of joe” delusion that has taken hold.
Those same leaders are going to be divided and splintered… and it’s almost election time.
I wonder when the “oh shit” hits, will it be when the press continues the assault on the panic-selected nominee or when nov 5 comes and they just lose to a twice indicted convicted felon who’s on epstein’s list because the D leaders couldn’t get their shit together.
He should be.
What kind of sorry ass supporters quit on you at the first sign of adversity?
If anything these stupid ass Dems should be bumping for Biden and filling in on every mic when he stumbles or gaffs.
Not openly calling him to not run 3 months before the election.
If they really felt this way why wasn’t it brought up in the primaries?
Why didn’t some other Dem seriously challenge him?
Dems love to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.
They did the same thing in 2016 putting Hillary on the ticket instead of the Biden then and we see how well that worked out.
They should have run Biden in 2016 and his second term would be ending now and maybe Hillary could be running NOW instead of this idiocracy that’s about to happen.
And he has every right to. He flubs a line or two here and gets names mixed up on occasion, and the people in the party can’t put in him a home fast enough. Meanwhile Trump goes on insane rambling tangents and promising fascism, and it’s business as usual because Trumps insanity has been so normalized by now.
I am not crazy about Harris’ chances.
It’s the RGB dilemma, Iearn to bow out gracefully
I think the possibility of a “graceful exit” has well and truly expired. Now he’ll be begrudgingly stepping down in a way which just appears frustrated and unwilling, it’s entirely his fault he didn’t take the chance to leave at a more optically convenient time, and one which gave better electoral chances to his replacement, and as a result he has given reason for people to lose any empathy they had for him. This will be his legacy, let’s just hope he makes it easier on both the nation and himself by announcing it quickly and outlining clearly what the process for the candidate reselection will be.
I get it, but when he ran in 2020 he said one term.
