  1. Fell out of the sky due to Sanctions or Partisans. Either way good riddance.

  2. Couldn’t have happened to a nicer bunch of people.

  3. Not sure if “unregistered flights” are the norm in Russia, but hopefully there were some important people onboard.

  4. While I’m sure a crash is more likely, as things start looking grimmer, it wouldn’t be too unexpected for some high ranking officials to get out of Russia Rudolph Hess style to secure their lives and prospects as leaders in an inevitable post-Putin purge.

  5. Guys, these Russians aren’t dead. We just sent them to live in a farm upstate. That you can’t ever visit…

  6. Sad about Bob Newhart dying yesterday. Great comedian.

  7. What do you mean by disappear?Like exploded or some malfunctioning?

  8. The Sakha republic where Yakutia is, is huge (3M km^2) and wild as f with a tiny human population (<1M). It has some interesting raw materials though like diamonds. It also has bears.

If you come down on a unregistered flight, you are probably just bear food. It had a beacon, but it was about 400km away.

The helicopter was a western one, a Robinson from the US. Like all western sourced aviation, I’m sure they would have had issues with maintenance of late.
