Right now they have initiative and I fail to see how this can be achieved without giving up additional territories and submitting to ruzzian demands. The lethargic Western stance on Ukraine’s NATO/EU membership also doesn’t inspire me. They might somehow join EU in the future, but it’s not a military alliance, it wouldn’t save their skin during the next ruzzian invasion.

5. Unfortunately, this is the situation Ukraine is in. They need to negotiate for peace while they still have the leverage of western support. Russia has the opportunity to save face by annexing some territories and ending the war, and Ukraine has a chance to save itself by securing the regions it still controls even if it means losing some territory.

   War sucks. It’s not Ukraine’s fault they got invaded. But sometimes bad things happen to the innocent, and that’s what happened here. Ukraine’s best step forward is to be honest about the situation they’re in, cut losses, and negotiate NATO/US/UN forces to come in and secure the new border regions.

   If the purpose was to drain the old Soviet stockpile and then shut them out until eventually collapse, they could be playing the long game. I don’t see Zelensky giving up territory without knowing they will win under a new strategy.

   Russia’s collapse began in 1991, we are just now in the throes of the final death rattle. We knew it would be messy, but if we can avoid nuclear war while letting this fucker die as it should, then it’s a slightly smaller shit sandwich.

   If Ukraine cedes the east to temporarily occupied zones but not fully cede to Russia, in exchange for a ceasefire, this will be the state of things for decades.

   It will be a hollow victory if you can even call it a victory. I disagree and would rather Ukraine push if they can and retake their sovereignty.

   Ukraine needs to:

   * Bomb the shit out of every industrial and military target it can reach inside of Russia. Every oil depot, terminal, refinery, pumpjack, factory, pipeline, port, rail terminal, truck depot, factory, mine.

   * Bomb / strike every valid target across crimea

   * Make all possible plans and BRING THE BRIDGE DOWN by any means possible. This will be huge and isolate crimea in connection with a bombing spree.

   * Not make any concession plans prior to obtaining the F16’s
