Mother of a captured Russian occupier says Russia did not invade Ukraine and is not waging war. I urge you to listen to this conversation. It is very telling of how the Russians see this war.

Amazing how similar it is to talking to MAGAs
She has no love for her son, so much is clear.
Lol, what is she supposed to say? People go to jail in Russia for saying the obvious. She obviously deflects because she just wants to talk to her son and not incriminate herself.
No offense but this is dumb video. Shows Russians are scared to say the truth, at most. But that’s nothing new.
I honestly take a lot of these videos with a grain of salt. Not saying the Russian people are not being complacent because they are 100% are. But when the state media shows up at your door, you do whatever they say to assure you don’t fall out a window.
Russia keeps very close hold on its propaganda and cracks down hard on any dissenters. It’s a giant police state and one believes what they’re told.
Surprise surprise Russians are useless scum no matter the generation
there is no war in ba sing se
Where does she think he was when he was captured?
She said I don’t get political and them proceeds to share some political statements about what Russia is and isn’t doing.
These people keep contradicting themselves from the leaders to the followers from the rich to the dirt poor.
So much more could be said, but it would be a waste of time. I’ll conclude with the most important thing…
Slava Ukraini!
I’m already seeing comments about “what are they supposed to say” or “don’t generalize Russia”.
Where is the damn courage within their society to stand up? For 2.5 years Russia has shown an inability to reflect and look in the mirror. This is all on them and yes we should generalize them at this stage.
After a certain point, the world didn’t care much in separating the good and bad Germans once the allies started carpet bombing German cities in WW2. This strategy can certainly be debated now, but after a few years of Nazi terror, it became clear that there was no point to try to negotiate with a brainwashed society that showed no willingness to seek a diplomatic way out.
The same goes for Russia – this is what decades of political apathy gives you.
Does anyone else remember the plot of the first Splinter Cell game? It substantially revolves around the country of Georgia invading and occupying Azerbaijan while using sophisticated information warfare to hide the occupation from the world. I specifically remember thinking that this seemed very far-fetched when I first played the game, and now I just don’t know. Say what you will about Tom Clancy, but in many ways he was weirdly prescient about warfare in the 21st century.
She’s scared shitless to speak the truth
Beatings will continue until morale improves.
This is the Russian Mentalityand has been for centuries. ” It is all for myself. ” Even family comes third. Me first, husband next, then children if it benefits you but only if it benefits you financially or socially.
