Note that EU aid is separate to bilateral aid directly from individual EU countries to Ukraine. All EU countries thus contribute both directly via bilateral aid and via EU institutions

  1. Sorry had to repost as i forgot to put the source in the previous one. The numbers are from February 29, 2024 so recent aid will not be included. Also note that the accounting of aid for some countries is notoriously hard because either they do not clearly communicate the numbers of the material being given or are generally vague (France) or disclose nearly nothing (Finland).

  2. About the only thing making me proud of being from the UK right now.

  3. The chart shows that the EU is making a bigger contribution than the US despite facing much tougher economic hardship.

For example compare Germany with America.

    German economy in 2023 – growth 0.4% – inflation 5.9%.

    American economy in 2023 – growth 3.4% – inflation 3.4%.

Yet it’s Americans who constantly whine how much they’re suffering – despite the high rates of growth and the stock market booming. Admittedly it’s not all Americans – just the ones who want Putin to win.

  4. We need to pump up those numbers. These are rookie numbers.

  5. Such a shame us Aussies are hardly up there, or at all really.

  6. If EU converted half of its financial aid to military aid, there would be no need for US involvement and all the Trumpys could finally just STFU.

  7. The article says $106.9B to Ukraines government and $175B in Ukraine related spending by the US so far. Your chart is explicitly stated as being before the last $60B aid bill while the article itself is more up to date.

  8. The U.S. has contributed as much as all the EU combined. This is bullshit and needs to change. I’m all for supporting ukraine but this is ridiculous. Prime example of why half of America wants us out. Plenty of need right here in America for that money. The EU has to do better or you will lose our support.

  9. Judged by GDP and considering military support (mostly flowing back into the country), US support really isn’t great. Should be doubled when compared to EU.

  10. Holy shit, Denmark is 4th in weapons delivery? Wow, that’s some heavy weight for them.

    Thank you Denmark!

  11. This shows that the largest EU economies behind Germany are not doing their part. France should do more but especially Italy and Spain are just shamefully underperforming. I don’t take “they don’t have much” as an argument. They could’ve helped financially with ordering shells or equipment. But they decide to not care.

  12. I see Norway with its 5 million people have given 10% of what the 2 biggest givers have, being the EU – 449 million people and the US – 333 million people.

Better step up your game big brothers.

Worth pointing out, the US has given a large chunk of its old military equipment, thus replacing/modernizing its own military and boosted the US economy.

The EU has mostly given monatary aid.

  13. … and if we consider Europe in a broader geographical sence, then Europe is by far the largest supporter of Ukraine.

  14. Beaten by both Norway and Denmark, we Swedes need to step it up.

  15. Fuck. I knew my country was doing little, but I didn’t know this little. Wth Trudeau?

  16. The big surprise here is that Canada is below Japan despite the fact that we have such a huge Ukrainian diaspora. We gotta pump those numbers up, those are rookie numbers

  17. That you to Ukraine and the country’s that have contributed to help stop WW3

  18. Haha you gotta use binoculars to spot spains contribution.

  19. Now graph that as % of total GDP

    US isnt pulling their weight

  20. So the 4th biggest contributor is a country of 6M people? Well done 🇩🇰
