Hello, I am not sure if I am allowed to post this here but I am not sure where else to post this.

Yesterday afternoon my uncle left home at roughly 14:45 from Stratford and has yet to return home. He has left his phone at home and we have no means of contacting him, nor does he know any phone number in the house. We filed a police report yesterday and they claim to be looking however we are not sure how much they are doing.

The last known sighting of him was early this morning at Hackney Town Hall at 12:30am. A bus driver saw him on his bus and found a number in his wallet to a distant relative, however this person is on holiday and we only got a call this morning from the relatives son saying where he was last seen. The bus driver stayed approximately an hour with him trying to call the police and explain how he was lost and disoriented, however the dispatch officer said it was not important as he was not injured (which is ridiculous because he is a 79 yo man on the street at 12:30am saying he is lost).

It is now believed his freedom pass was last used in SW15 this morning at 9 something.

We know he does not know his way back from there and are looking for any sightings at all.

Attached below is the post containing a description, picture and details to contact.

He was last seen wearing a blue striped shirt, light/medium wash jeans, trainers, a black windbreaker and a hat similar to the one in the photo.

If you have any information please call 999 quoting 01/609674/24

Thank you in advance!

  1. Good luck! I’ll keep an eye when I’m out and about.

  2. Post his photo & area last seen on Tiktok.
You will get a much bigger reach.
    I hope you find him

  3. I don’t get out much these days, but I showed the picture to my husband, who cycles a lot in East London and works on the canals. He’ll keep a look out.

  4. Have you thought of putting up some posters? I know usually people do this with pets but maybe it will help

  5. I hope your uncle is soon found. It’s awful that the police didn’t attend given his vulnerability.

  6. I hope he is soon found – I can’t imagine the worry.

  7. I live in the area so will be looking out when I’m out. Really hope you are able to track him down quickly.

  8. The dispatch officer really dropped the ball here, I will start a complaint about it. I hope he’s soon found

  10. I saw him yesterday at 440pm, just up the road from Tooting Bec station at Trinity Rd/ Trinity Crescent.

Seems like he has moved now, but I’ll keep an eye out.

  12. I am really sorry the police were so unhelpful when the bus driver called them. Bloody missed opportunity there.

  13. Have shared on my social media. I hope he is found safe and quickly! Utterly shocking the call handler wouldn’t send anyone out. Please update when you have an opportunity to.

  16. Commenting for the algorithm mate. Hope you find him soon

  17. u/TopAd1583 if his travel card was used in SW15 I work there and around the SW20 areas. Those postcodes are Southfields, Wimbledon, Putney or Raynes Park, which if he was seen in tooting is a reasonable place to narrow the search to. Hope that helps I’ll try keep a lookout if he’s around there.

Edit: Tooting is very nearby to those locations literally 1 bus another area could be Roehampton. Or even Kingston and New Malden

  18. Outrageous that the police just dismissed this. Really hope you find your uncle soon.

  19. Commenting for reach! You’re absolutely right about the dispatch officer’s response being ridiculous — their reasoning is insane. I’ll keep an eye out & will show to my partner. Hope he’s found soon 🤞🏼
