  4. There are 20 million of these guns in civilian use. It’s like outlawing toasters or swimming pools. Even if you support the idea, how do you possibly implement this?

  5. I think people underestimate how many normal people—even democrats—own these and similar types of rifles in the Midwest. I don’t think you run on this, especially when your strategy is winning within the margins in 3 midwestern states.

  16. I’m so tired of Democrats pushing for banning guns. It’s extremely divisive and banning one semi automatic rifle just means they’ll use a different one. This move is purely for optics and doesn’t play well besides with people who are already voting for Biden anyways. If we really want to reduce mass shooting and gun violence in general we need to reduce poverty rates, income inequality, and increase the quality of our education system. Americans are violent in general regardless of what weapons we have access to, which is the main problem. We have higher rates of stabbings even compared to countries that don’t even have guns and stabbing is the best way to murder someone. Even if we removed all guns, we’d then have to ban knives, it’s just swatting at problems instead of getting to the root cause of our violent society.

  26. The people who want to ban AR-15s are generally shocked to learn there’s like a hundred different models made by other companies under different names. I’ve been shooting all my life, I’ve never seen an actual Armalite Rifle Model 15.

    Theres also a thousand other models with comparable abilities, but entirely different designs.

    Reality is, there’s no way to ban ARs without banning all semi auto rifles, and it’s pretty hard to argue that little 10/22 plinkers and .30-06 hunting rifles should also be banned.

  31. Ironically if the kid had used a bolt action hunting style rifle the result would have been different. Oswald got off three rounds with an old Italian bolt action rifle in only six seconds and scored two hits, including a head shot!
