Considering they have over 1 million customers in Ireland and now with the 100k guarantee I’ll be closing my other bank accounts once I get the Irish IBAN
Irish banks and revolut is turning into xtravison vs netflix type situation.
I still do have my main account with AIB but every month I do transfer out to Revolut most of my wages, and use my Revo card for shopping etc. Plus i buy few shares and some crypto for fun. It saves me around €20-30 in fees I used to pay to Anglo… Each transaction at AIB 35c, what a joke.
Say nothing about what you get from them for your saving account vs what they take from you for lending. Bye bye boomer.
Are the transaction fees we get charged by AIB/BOI/UB part of Irish law, or just those banks saying “fuck you” to us?
In other words, will Revolut transactions be free, thereby giving Irish people the opportunity to enjoy the fun of having a bank account without having to pay for it? It’s the maddest thing about Ireland I’ve found since moving here; we all get charged to spend our own money and no one seems to be bothered.
Could they start a savings account with interest?
Revolut me that mortgage payment there will ye, thanks
Revolut needs to get better customer service. At the minute you can only send them a chat. Takes ages to get a reply and the responses barely make sense. At least a real bank has a phone number and an email.
If Revolut enter the mortgage market here in a few years, the Irish banks will be screwed.
Good, more banking competition should enable better service and prices for consumers.
I don’t know what you are all doing but my AIB fees are less than €60 a year
Would using a revolut account to be paid into by your employer be a good move at this point? I gave notice today. Will start a new job in 2 weeks. Just curious
8.5% apr , Nah , rip off
The benefits listed are available from credit unions across Ireland already and you won’t have your finances based in Lithuania. It’s free now but they can’t keep operating at a loss. Recently those loses doubled. Often when something is to good to be true it is
Government will create legislation to stop it.

is it still safe though? this is an honest question, im not a boomer please dont kill me
Is ‘Revolut Bank’ available yet for anyone else? Haven’t been offered to upgrade yet
I have an account with the local credit union that i get my wages paid into, and whenever I need money i transfer it to N26. I also have a revolut account, which is where my savings from Australia are and is generally how i give my dad money for rent and other sundries that don’t need paying immediately
well this will all end in tears
I’m using Revolut to reduce my AIB bank charges. What a rip off.
