“The outcome on the ground is terribly, terribly important, vital to future European and global security…. But we can’t be under any illusions…at the end of the conflict in Ukraine…we are going to have a very big Russia problem” – General Cavoli, Supreme Allied Commander, Europe.

  1. Whoever’s in the White House in ‘25 better be listening to this man!

  2. Ok, so if we are going to have a problem with russia anyways, no matter how the war concludes, what is better then, having a problem with a country that achieved its goals and feels strenghtened and encouraged to keep going on, or having it with a defeated and weakened country who knows it can’t defeat world democracies and impose their autocracy wherever they want?

What I’m trying to say is just fucking stop supporting Ukraine half-gas, and start doing it full throttle. Stop giving just the essential for Ukraine to resist just a bit longer and start thinking in a full defeat of russia. Stop giving some crumbs to Ukrane and be fully involved, as if it wasn’t only an Ukranian problem and it was also a direct war against us as well… because it is. If not right now, it will be in a relatively short future.

  3. No kidding. And at the Aspen Institute, no less. Why do Generals show up there in their professional capacity again?

  4. We don’t have future „Russia“ problem when there is no „Russia“ anymore.

  5. Heartbreaking updates from Ukraine. Praying for a resolution

  6. It’s not just Europe that has a problem with Russia.

    – Russia is apparently giving North Korea missile tech (Not exactly peachy for the US or South Korea, Japan),

    – has been supplying material to Iran which in turn is mysteriously turning up with the Houthis in Yemen,

    – It’s mercenaries are stirring up trouble in Africa

    – & of course is spreading its cancer in Moldova, Georgia, Chechnya, Armenia / Azerbaijan.

And I’ve undoubtedly missed other examples of his Foreign (fucking people over) Policy.

  7. So supply the weapons needed to conclude the war in Ukraine and continue with the same efforts to strengthen the NATO borders and root out the influencing of European politics by Russia and let Russia deal with it. I know that we need to interact with them in some form as we want goods from them and they want goods from us but regulate it more then before. And don’t let them advance to a possition where they can threaten us like they do now.

  8. We’ve been having a big russia problem since at least 2014. But if you’ve got your head up your arse it’s a bit hard to see it

  9. Come on general it wont be that bad.

Its just the socio-economical collapse and balkanization of russia. A couple civil wars between oligarc’s militias, religious fanatics, and pseudo communists with a couple nuclear weapons in play; it’ll be a good time.

    Lets light this candle.

  10. Maybe we need to totally defeat Ruzzia to make sure something like this never happens again and to take care of the problem in a responsible way. It is not for free, it comes with a price, but it worked out getting Germany on the right track.

  11. Why NATO on Russian border is no problem, but Russia on NATO border is?

  12. Russia is a problem only if you don’t take the necessary actions.

  13. Controversial thought (I suspect). Resume some energy trade after the war. Russia does not want to be completely dependent on China. This time, however, Europe must have a very strong army. Also establish incredibly strong sanctions which goes into effect in case of Russian aggression.
