  1. I believe this has taken place over the last two years. There is likely not enough personnel left at the plant to operate/maintain it properly. I would expect the Russians to strip it bare of equipment and lease it to rot unfortunately.

    It’s becoming increasingly obvious that the conflict has reached a stalemate. No Russia isn’t going to run out of equipment, but the equipment they have available will become increasingly obsolete and decrepit.

    They cannot possibly hope to hold onto the Ukrainian territory they are occupying without extraordinary cost that will eventually destroy the Russian economy. Personally I think they will have to withdraw, just as they have withdrawn the black sea fleet from Sebastopol. Occupied Ukraine will be stripped bare, burned and mined as they leave. The Zaporizhzhia plant will be yet another casualty of this war.

  2. russians are very good at following safety protocols, so if they evacuated 5,000 workers it is probably nothing serious … oh wait …
