The towns near the La Palma volcano, submerged in ash.

  1. This has to be one of the scariest experiences ever, imagine sitting in your house minding your business and enjoying the day knowing that the volcano near your place where you live will soon erupt, destroying eeverything nearby and everything you worked for is gone….

  2. Rather dangerous too, its not just lava thats a danger but ash.

“A one-inch layer of ash weighs 5-10 pounds per square foot when dry, but 10-15 pounds per square foot when wet.”

That can easily add up, especially on flatter roof building more popular in countries where rainfall and snowfall are lighter and not designed for heavier roof weights and sharper pitches to better shed weight.

  3. “Todos los hombres tienen su parcela de tierra que cultivar. Lo importante es que profundicen cuando cavan”

Nada es para siempre, decimos, pero hay momentos que parecen quedar suspendidos sobre el fluir inexorable del tempo”
