Russian military personnel use a Chinese monitor ‘Sologood’ to intercept and view video footage from Ukrainian FPV drones.

  1. They could at least make it more genuine, on the video feed it’s clearly an fpv drone and they pick up something else entirely

  2. Damn, they get to see videos from the 47th before anyone else!

  3. [SoloGood 800*480 5.8G FPV Monitor with DVR 40CH 4.3 Inch LCD Display 16:9 NTSC/PAL Auto Search Video Recording – SoloGood.RC](https://www.sologood.net/products/sologood-800-480-5-8g-fpv-monitor-with-dvr-40ch-4-3-inch-lcd-display-16-9-ntsc-pal-auto-search-video-recording?pr_prod_strat=e5_desc&pr_rec_id=e5c75d413&pr_rec_pid=6820890542103&pr_ref_pid=6971635302423&pr_seq=uniform)

seems to be this device. Without knowing i think it sounds a bit sketchy that this would be able to access other brands than their own. Also seesm to have zero info about radio bands and i find that odd.

And if it was that easy to intercept 😛 Why not take control and send it back to where it came from?

    Edit:
looking a bit more at it [5.8GHz FPV Channels & Frequency Chart (Analogue & Digital) – Oscar Liang](https://oscarliang.com/fpv-channels/) seems that most FPV drones uses same 100 channels.
So this could be real i guess since stuff like DJI drones will be the same.

  4. An interesting development if true. I don’t see what info they could really gain from this unless they are picking up the signal from the launch zone. I guess they can watch in live time their own troops and armor getting stricked

  5. The advantage /problem with the analog signal is. It is very difficult to block. It is also very hard to encrypt.

Double-edge sword. The best people can do is syncro-frequency channel switching at specific intervals.

  6. They can watch their comrades die in real time.

  7. POV: you’re watching POV of a POV drone attacking you.

  8. Ukraine starts broadcasting fake drone footage to keep heads down.

  9. They’re getting that pre-release FPV drone attack footage of themselves

  10. Drone incomming!

Stand still, play dead but on any case do not seek shelter.

    Sticks ready!

    Aim

    THROW

  11. How plausible is this really. We see fpv drone footage on the device that could very well be their own fpv drone. Then it cuts to the dude using small arms fire, they barely hit drones with assault rifles and he makes sure to look into the camera as in “look at me guys”. Then it cuts to a smashed drone. It all seems very sketch again.

  12. Not sure how much benefit that has, I assume they would have to find the right frequency first as well so it doesn’t act as an early warning system either.

Maybe if you can use it as a tool to find the right frequency and then have something else to jam that frequency assuming it blocks the videofeed?

  13. Russian: Hey that guy on the screen looks like me, isn’t that interest….

  14. Why buy it if you can see the video here for free?

  15. Best would be to se the orc see himself in the pov of the pov.

  16. Must be comforting knowing that while you lack the ability to create sophisticated systems – an equally depraved ally is willing to stick their neck out for you by sending their gear (keeping in mind China is the king of intellectual theft).

  17. “Hey… Dorgo… doesn’t that look like us?” 🤔

“What? Who? Let me see.” 😕 “Hmm, kind of.”

“If only it was closer, we could be sure.”

“Oh, look, it’s zooming in! Ah, yes, it IS us!” 😃

“Dorgo, look! We are on TV!”

    <splat>

  18. Makes sense. The FPV drone cam stream is transmitting in analog encoding as it more stable in weak/marginal signal and jamming situations. Digital encoding would just go from perfect 1080p to full stop as buffer fills with error data. In addition digital encoding has buffer delay proportional to signal strength and that’s undesirable in realtime control situations.

  19. He will receive his FPV soon and he’ll he it in first person view as it dove right at him

  20. Why is it so hard to encrypt the signal and why is it not done on every drone?

  21. I have one that hooks to my cellphone to use the cellphones screen. Just another set of FPV goggles and anyone can do this. It’s not some sneaky piece of special equipment. The screen is probably able to be placed inside a headpiece that allows you to use it like a set of goggles to fly a drone. I have 3 different sets of this type of google that will allow you to remove the screen. They are generally cheaper than regular goggles and they also allow you to wear you glasses inside the goggles.

  22. So what if they send 2 drones at once? Which singal will it pick up?
Ukrainians have no issues sending a swarm at a time if needed.
