I've been looking up and around the Internet for a clue about these faces on the passport but can't find anything, figured it might have something about our folk lore like the salmon of knowledge as the man has fish growing out of his beard, abut that's the best clue I have.nd others have feathers which I don't know the relation.
Do any of ye lads have a notion of what they're about?

  1. They look like the representations of rivers from the Customs House in Dublin.

  2. If you look at the bridges on the liffey they are on the keystones. If you curl the pages of the passport back in together it will make a complete face as a security feature.

  3. They’re the heroes from the crown paint factory. They are now idolised on the passports.

  4. River god’s, they were on the back of the lady lavery series banknotes too

  5. Those are pictures of the statues on the Customs House in Dublin. Those statues are faces representing the gods of the rivers of Ireland, personifications of the rivers imagined and carved by Edward Smyth.

According to this guided tour there are fourteen of them on the building [https://fivelampsarts.ie/events/river-gods-guided-tour/](https://fivelampsarts.ie/events/river-gods-guided-tour/)

Bronze copies have been made and sold for auction [https://www.independent.ie/life/home-garden/treasures-sculptures-for-the-love-of-river-gods/36179879.html](https://www.independent.ie/life/home-garden/treasures-sculptures-for-the-love-of-river-gods/36179879.html)

What made those sculptures so famous was that they made it into the banknotes of the Republic of Ireland. I didn’t know that now they are on the passports. That one vomiting fishes is the Barrow. The one in the other picture with that thing similar to laurels on the head looks like the Boyne.

  6. Remnants of now dried stomach Bile from Xmas 2019 lads porty noight. Totes.

  7. Representations of ancient god emperors of Eire known as Molly & Rossa, in modern tongue. The Morbegs of Morbeg land, come with me and understand

  8. The first one kinda looks like Zeke Schrute from The US Office
