  4. “The media” always seems to really mean “no, no, that OTHER media”, a subset completely independent of any consideration of where it lies relative to some sort of media consensus. “The media” just becomes this undefined behemoth that gets collective blame, even if the mainstream media consensus is the opposite.

    The article’s critiques of the headlines of Dallas Morning News, Boston Globe etc. are correct, but god, that title is irritating. Yes, *of course* the New York Post is the most egregious. It’s a horrendous propaganda rag.

  10. The coverage of it was pretty much that he did a boring insane speech that no one liked. It was a pretty clear consensus across outlets.

I’ve seen it! It’s huge and glows and only comes out when no one’s around!” No one would believe him 😂 

  19. we’re at the point where if trump doesn’t actively shit himself and mention it, the media says he’s doing fine if not great . and even if he spent 10 minutes talking about shitting himself on stage they’d say “at least he didn’t throw it at anyone”. they’ll always move the goal posts for him and we’ll be the ones that suffer.
