A coronation will be a guaranteed loss. I’m genuinely becoming so scared that the DNC would screw this up so bad I almost want Biden to stay
Man whatever that’s fine. There was a primary, no one ran, and he either got worse or if came out how bad he is. He needs to drop, we are the limited, and she’s the only option. Great. A true democratic process would have been ideal, but that’s not where we are.
Let’s end the fanatical belief that if it’s not your top choice it’s a bad choice. Or an untenable choice. She’s well qualified and not confused. She has been killing it on the campaign trail and is more articulate than either candidate. She’s got name recognition and the funding/infrastructure transfer to her is logistically easier.
She isn’t my first choice either, and I’m super excited to vote for her because the choice goes from being between radical Republican extremism and cognitive decline to radical Republican extremism and qualified but I liked some other folks better.
Don’t let perfect be the enemy of perfectly acceptable.

I worry America is still too sexist to elect a woman to be president. Putting up Kamala could backfire.
This has the same vibes as Biden refusing to drop out.. That he’s the only person that can beat Trump. Why is the DNC so afraid of an open primary? I honestly am not sure they want to win. They are all rich, do they secretly want Trump?

Look – obliviously the party is going to prop up a largely unelectable candidate in Harris and despite my reservations about not releasing minor crime criminals when laws changed in CA and the fact that bidens struggling polls factor in the likely prospect of Harris succeeding biden next term- I will still vote for her and try to convince others to do the same…..but if she loses this very winnable election, i hope her career ends with it.
Due to all her negatives, low fsvorability, and being pilloried for the one high profile thing Biden put her in charge of (the border), it makes more sense to keep Biden then go with her. They should’ve picked a swing state pol and kept kamala as veep buy of course she would raise a stink because she will ignore her negatives and put personal ambition ahead of what’s good for the party and country

My two cents. America is not electing a black woman. Harris wilted in the spotlight as soon as she led the pack in 2020, and was the first major Dem candidate to drop out, earning 0 delegates.
We’re better with Biden.
America didn’t elect a white female president with name recognition in Hillary Clinton before Trumpism and MAGA so there is no way it’s ready to elect a Black/Indian woman as president.
I’ll vote for whoever, but I think it’s pretty crazy to think Kamala has a better shot than Biden. She has not been a prominent figure in her role as VP, and she lacks any charisma whatsoever. So not only do most voters know next to nothing about her, making it easy to craft negative narratives about her, she is unlikely to convince anyone otherwise.
Harris will lose to Trump. She has no real connection with the voters and had very little charisma when she was running for VP.
I worry that the DNC will put her up and assume, just like they did with Hillary, that people will want a female president over an old white male and won’t put too much effort into it.
If this is the only choice, just leave it as it is and move on.

I’m voting Democratic no matter what, but I do not agree with the DNC as it is currently run. We need new ideas and new blood running the party. Young progressives make up a huge part of the voter base and we are consistently ignored.

Not really. Scott Galloway proposed a legitimate solution. Have a primary blitz. Dems have until end of August. The blitz will be debate formate. Rank choice voting. 1 debate a week until primary. Winner gets the nomination.
She’s also the only person who can inherit Biden’s $200+ million in campaign funds because they’re on the same ticket. Anyone else has to start completely from scratch with less than six months before the election and while billionaires are throwing money at Trump.
As a Canadian, why don’t people like Kamala? The reasons seem vague.
I completely understood Hilary; a career politician who doesn’t have a sincere bone in her body, and seems completely phony and full of secrets.
But Kamala seems to me a tough determined woman that I could at least have a conversation with.
All I hear is that she doesn’t connect on a relatable level (Trump does?), she’s a woman (I think a black man had a far worse shot) and isn’t as recognizable (I’d say she’s the most recognizable out of all the candidates).
