Beating Russia is Our Only Choice | Gen. Ben Hodges

According to Gen. Ben Hodges, Russia’s military and overall state are in far worse condition than what many may realize: Despite over two years of warfare, Russia has failed to make gains in Ukraine. In fact, Russia has lost Ukrainian territory since 2022.

Gen. Ben Hodges lays out what could be done to assure a Ukrainian victory and a Russian defeat, while explaining why these steps should be taken without any further delay. The fact is that a Ukrainian victory is within reach: If we decide to assist in making it a reality.

This is going to be so bad for Ukraine, since Trump would have absolutely no problems with handing Ukraine over to Putin. I think Trump would actually like doing so. Trump is the biggest Putin groupie out there. He wants to be like Putin and have the same dictatorial powers 😒💔

  7. I hope the sanctions will stay in place even if Russia pulls out – maybe till they´ve paid recompension in one way or another. If sanctions are lifted – they are back in no time and better prepared this time!

    The General must know many different roads leads to the same answer to many of the questions that he ask, such as why is the USA restricting Ukraine from striking deep into ruzzian territory.

  17. We are lucky to have men like Gen. Ben Hodges in the armed forces. We are lucky to live in societies that produced such men. Let's hope today's society remains capable of that, which is not very clear looking at today's politics and global mess. Irrationality on the rise.

The difference between 'freedom and democracy' on the one hand and some strong man authoritarian despotism on the other references the good character or otherwise of the authoritarian leadership. Moreover, controlling the media only serves to delay the reckoning amongst the general population which finds in terms of 'truth'. At this point Putin's despotic regime has gone too far and this presents its own set of 'Russian Roulette' jeopardies in terms of just what terrorist crimes this unhinged mad man will sanction to unleash next? Here today thee die has been cast and the damage is done. When 'the truth' concerning just what Putin has been in and about over these last two and more years catches up with him then the safest sanctuary concerning his temporal survival will find inside of some prison cell in The Hague which is where he properly belongs. More generally, and with this 'slow burn' we sense that maybe the west is out to neutralise the threat and menace which has been The Russian Federation and this in its various guises, shapes and forms and all this now for a century and more? Ukraine is finding itself paying a terrible price as the principal victim here. Russia reparations will properly 'bankrupt' the state and we need to otherwise guard against returning to some 1918 Treaty of Versailles – in that instance leading to a couple of decades of German frustration and resentment leading to WW II.

  25. Biden won't even get 200 Electoral College votes. It is the end of the evil Democrat party.
    Trump thinks he can arrange an end to the war in Ukraine before he is even sworn in to office again.
    We will have to see, I'm not so positive about the possibility of that.
    I chatted with a few Russians I know after the attempted assassination on Trump. They were dismayed and nearly on the verge of giving up all hope.
    I hope they realize that while Trump will negotiate with them honestly, he's not going to give them anywhere close to everything they want.
    Trump remembers the Battle of Khasham and the events that necessitated it, even if the Russians and lying evil Democrats don't.

  27. I beg to differ General Ben Hodges. Ukraine CANNOT win and end this war against Putler. UNLESS, Biden and the NATO allies untie the other hand of Ukraine by letting them use the long range missiles to target inside of Russia. If not, it's just a wish list. 
    General Hodges, can you NOT help Mr. Zelensky convince the Secretary of State and Secretary of Defense convincing the US President letting Ukraine use the long range missiles attack the inside territory of Russia?

  28. Thank you General Hodges it's always best when your in the room and of course thank you Kyiv Post for having him. It's very easy now to contrast life in my country the USA to Russia at the moment. Right now in the US 40% of the people want to kill Ukraine so Russia has what it wants. Not all of us, but way to many. Currently we as a people are crucifying our president for 3 to 4% inflation as well as being an elder. As crazy as it sound they are ready to replace him with a felonious insurrectionist who says Ukraine must surrender/die so Putin has every "peace" of Ukraine
    In the US it really is upside down world where this time a large portion of my fellow Americans are choosing the Hitler equivalent Trump/Putin over the FDR equivalent Biden. The only possible reason I can think of is because we are a free country and being spoiled by that freedom you get the power to make very bad choices. In my opinion what happened to Russia is what's happening here in the US only in Russia it happened quickly because they were never free very long. Once they were, they were taken for a ride by Putin and are now worse off than ever. Here in the US, we are being taken for a ride by powers who represent the smallest proportion of American society who represent our top wealthy class. Right and Left who think they will do very well in Putin style fascism. 9% inflation and not a peep, that is what Trump is shooting for.The Russian/Putin model is you have one right and that is to remain silent. For Ukraine it is very terrible for them. They are being victimized by both sides of the same coin in the US, Our fascist maga right and our Neocon fascist left and for that I'm very sorry.

As an ex-pat from Sussex who has lived in America (with long absences being off the coast of Russia in an SSBN waiting for Doomsday) since 1970, you should realize this chap is not a member of the American gov't. The mood of most Americans I speak to is – while they despise Putin – they despise paying for this war even more, because the Biden administration did not ask the American populace about it. They feel this is now Europe's responsibility to finance and even send their troops, if necessary. The retired general is out of touch.

  31. Ben has had this same talking point for the past two years. Unfortunately, the pusillanimous leaders of the EU, NATO and the US are not thinking this way. Obviously the EU, NATO and the US are militarily and economically stronger than Russia. But why is not the West providing more and current equipment to the Ukrainians. I’m guessing the West is planning on Ukraine and Russia to continue fighting until both have drained their manpower and equipment. I can’t imagine another reason why Ukraine is not getting better support from the West.
