1. Germany has always wriggled and took ages to send anything at all. It has continued to import Russian gas by devious means contrary to sanctions and it HAS to do this because it industrial economy is in deep trouble. The automotive sector is not just stagnant but, as of mid year, is sliding backwards so seriously as to cause lay offs in the complicated components supply chain it traditionally uses. This has put many medium sized company on temporary life support or downright bankruptcy. It still owes Greece, Italy and others vast sums left over from the migration scandal of nearly 10 years ago and the owed countries would do well to demand payment before the Euro goes into terminal decline as a main currency. Some countries are talking about abandoning the € and it never actually became fully settled in southern Italy and parts of Spain. Slovakia trades mainly using the currency of its big neighbor the Czech Republic.
   Undue German influence in the ECB has allowed reckless printing but as the value of the € becomes more unstable Germany cannot afford equal pay in its neglected areas in the east and near the Danish border. In addition, none of its weapons leased or given to Kiev has performed well enough.
   The UK's new PM has told Zelenskyy that the government will aid Ukraine as planned but Starmer said "Ukraine" and not the Kiev regime. It is increasingly noticeable in the media that 'Kiev' and 'Ukraine' do not mean the same thing and restrictions on some weapon use has been underlined. France never had all that many SCALP/SS cruise missiles to send and UK ones have not been replaced, nor are more tanks or spares relevant with Russia close to forcing AFU forces out of the Donbas. The UK will supply ordnance for surviving materiel but has left its own forces short of equipment. PM Starmer must put this right and therefore knows that very little will go to Ukraine. UK press has also pointed out that Zelenskyy's tenure as president lapsed in constitutional terms on June 1st.
