Is this a general e bike problem or is it people buying cheap knock offs for 1/3 of the price of a normal retail price and then this happens?
My work has banned storing these and scooters inside buildings. Mainly as they are untested electrical items which are banned anyway. Even personal phone chargers are banned due to potential risks from damaged cables.
Letting other countries have monopolies on production of batteries and then doing precisely zero regulatory work to ensure their safety was always… questionable.
