How is it possible that a tax haven state such as Luxembourg drains so many euros from the EU? At least Ireland and Holland are big contributors, especially the swamp Germans. We need to send a message (looking at you Cyprus and Malta).

Now I understand why they have such a high average salary
Luxembourg in the daytime: “look at my GDP per capita 😎🤑🤠”
Luxembourg at night:

They gained independence from the Netherlands because they couldn’t accept a female royal. We got a guy now, so I’d say we do an aansluit and make them net payers.
Let’s darken up that pale flag a bit!
because tax-haven
> Why we don’t erase that leech-state of Luxembourg?
Are you talking about an ***Anschluss***?
How is belgium so low down? They dont exist so shouldnt they be 0?
Yes yes Luxembourg, fucking leechers. eh eh
its such a simple graph with simple summed data, yet I have not to seen any other besides 2021
How come Lux is beneficary when all their economic model is based on leeching their neighbours riches money ?!
Every nation in the red there should be annexed by their largest neighbour. If they’re insolvent, they’re insovereign.
…Except Portugal
Italians before changing their politics at home they prefer to lower other countries on their third world country level. This money Luigi isn’t going in our budget, it is for EU institutions, employees, infrastructure, etc. (and because we are far smaller than Belgium that adds up to way more per capita). It benefits our economy just indirectly and with some downsides, so not just positiv. Also yes we leech on your taxes, but that is an other story and it is also your fault, because let’s be fair to avoid taxes you need two sides working together. Ferreros company seat is in Luxembourg, Stellantis (with Fiat) in Amsterdam, Gucci bought by the French, etc. , you don’t protect your assets, and the Italian mindsetting is “me first” and “as long as it profits myself”, so you are the first problem. And then you go and elect always the biggest clowns, who will add more to the fiscal evasion… perhaps it’s time that you face yourself in a mirror and work on your problem and culture. Thanks having attended my Tedd Talk.
P.S : our GDP is not worth looking upon, because not realistic (1/2 of working force not living and spending in the country, etc.), to have a somewhat realistic view of our wealth and living standart you have to divide our per capita GDP more or less by 2… and yeah that is still good.
I find Hungary position there quite…hilarious? insulting?
The plan is simple. We put Luxembourg into Belgium to create an even bigger leech state, then remove Belgium too.
Why is Poland *so* much more in the red? I thought it was one of the more wealthy and successful CEE countries?
Don’t hate the player, hate the game. Massive unaccountable government is there to extract wealth. Lux just playing the game better
I know Luigi you can’t be bothered to do your 5 seconds of research that could actually give you an explanation for this. At the same time, the thought of you guys raging over this so emotionally, with your silly voices and hand gestures is actually pretty funny.
smh man can’t you atleast be a good little tax haven like Ireland?
Half of the budget of Cyprus comes from the Turks side and the other half comes from the Greeks and the English.
Alot of those spendings are for EU institutions. Not local development projects.
Leave Luxembourg alone. They’re like Berlin. Not technically beneficial but we can show off our Western European supremacy by keeping them around for the lols. (Only half joking tbh)
Why are we associating with countries like Poland, Hungary and Romania in the first place? Kick them the fuck out.
How Italy, after all that’s been going on in the last years, can still be a net contributor is beyond my comprehension
Wait, Luigi, you are actually *paying*? What will the other PIGS think of you when they learn that?!
_Carolus Magnus rex et imperator_
That is, if it wasn’t for Belgium and Luxembourg.
A list per capita would be more interesting to me
It’s easy, we buy Poland and thus save the European economy.

Wait, are we the goodies?
How dare you call the glorious grand duchy a leech state!
In response we will completely ignore you and continue to allow your shabby hedge funds to register in our illustrious nation for the fair and extremely reasonable price of three euros fifty.
is this real life?
Poland is the fat kid in the group that no one likes but your parents forced you to hang with.
Because Lëtzebuerg is tax-haven babyyy 🇱🇺🇱🇺💪💪
Long live Lëtzebuerg 🇱🇺🗿🍺💪✌️ Moien mëng frënd. Lëtzebuerg ass dat schéinst an establéiertst Land 🇱🇺✊️

Germany, France, and little Netherlands powering the European economy.
Greece

Simple answer: EU institutions.
How are we still contributing when we are the poorest of Scandinavia and going fast in the tubes? Our politicians would rather burn money than give us any.
Does Luxembourg have a lot of EU institution infrastructure?
Or just invested a lot during that year?
Luxembourg could be Belgian
Belgium is Eastern European now
Sweden🇸🇪🇸🇪💪 superior to Danes🤮🇩🇰
Wtf poland
This is worthless. If you want to compared who gives and receives the most you need to factor in the population size:

IMO also how rich the country is, but this is debatable.
In a fully democratic world without any dictator, the next wars I would wage are against Tax havens.
It’s a weird way to spell Poland, but ok
Lol.
Alternative legend for that chart:

Blue: Western Europe.
Red: Restern Europe.

Probably subventions for the starving luxembourgianesishian agriculture
Yo, leave our Luxembourgish colony alone!
Ireland a net contributor? They’ll be overjoyed to have something to grumble about.
Luxembourg? Have you seen whats going on in poland? To think you guys were mad at us when we tried to solve that problem
“A significant portion of this money (€1.696 billion out of €2.4 billion in 2020) goes towards administrative costs for EU institutions based in Luxembourg, such as the European Court of Justice and the European Court of Auditors
When excluding administrative costs and customs rights, Luxembourg actually becomes a net contributor to the EU budget.”
