I blame Carlo for this. The way he kept saying after Courtois returned from injury; “the best goalkeeper in the world is back”, really puts some shade to Lunin’s performances. Suffice me to say, if Kepa were the one btw the posts during that time, we might not have won the champion’s league. Yes, I wanted Courtois to start the final if he was fully fit, but Carlo showed no appreciation nor encouragement whatsoever towards Lunin. Courtois is 32 years old and nearing the end of his career. I love Kepa for his commitment to RM. but Lunin replaced him easily. It wasn’t even close. This is on Carlo. We really still Lunin to replace Courtois when he leaves

  1. I’m sorry, how is this Carlo’s fault? Tibo is the best. If he is even remotely fit, he starts. That’s obvious. So he should not say Tibo is the best? Tibo should not play?

Carlo multiple times praised Lunin during the season. What should he do more?

This isn’t an under 10’s-sunday league.

  2. Lunin is amazing, but it is pretty obvious he is too good to be a back up anymore, and Tibo proved in his last 5 games that he is still the best keeper in the world, so the only natural conclusion for all parties is Lunin seeks out a new club.

The only way it will haunt us is if tibo gets injured or all of the sudden drops drastically in his performance

  3. I wouldn‘t say that because Courtois is the best keeper in the world and is better than Lunin. Carlo did everything right becaus he gave Lunin his trust and started him over Kepa

  4. Tibo is the best goalkeeper in the world and there is no doubt about that. Even in the last 5 games he played, he displayed why he is that.

As for tibo getting old, dude is only 32. As for as GKs go, dude is just in his prime. So, if nothing goes wrong, he can give us 5-7 years.

  5. Courtois is injured? Straight to the trash bin – this guy probably

  6. If you fucking hesitate to play at Real Madrid….

…. THERE’S THE FUCKING DOOR MATE!

  7. I don’t think it’s Carlo’s fault he said what was obvious and i think Lunin also knows that very well It’s no rocket science.Courtois is always gonna be the first choice and we all madristas would be happy to see Lunin succeed Courtois but if Lunin thinks that he needs to move on to start a new chapter we are more that happy to see him do that and are thankful for his contribution and wish him good luck.

  8. > Courtois is 32 years old and nearing the end of his career.

I think you must be new to the sport if you think a 32 year old GK is nearing the end of his career. Courtois is literally in his prime rn and if he stays fit will go on for 4-5 years more at this level.

I’m glad Lunin was able to step up when Courtois was out but end of the day Courtois is still number 1 at this club and the undisputed best goalkeeper in the world so Carlo did nothing wrong by making sure that hierarchy is maintained both inside the club and out in the media.
