  1. In the end, it’s business and they probably want tax breaks

  2. Because rich and powerful people want to keep getting more rich and powerful.

Reminds me of what my super redneck uncle said after the 2008 crash, but I shouldn’t post that on reddit.

  3. Why would a bunch of financiers support the candidate who has openly solicited bribes?

  4. The NYT needs to stop treating Eloon Mush like he’s a normal human being and not an insane, conspiracy-theory-believing, racist fuckbucket.

  5. The millionaires and billionaires just realized that they need to make their massive gains over the rest of the population *before* mass automation.

  6. A Musk’s tale in headlines:

    >Elon *Musk’s* growing empire is fueled by $4.9 billion in government *subsidies*

    >*Musk’s* SolarCity reported that it had received $497.5 million in direct *grants* from the *US* Treasury Department.

    >After the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) declined to give Starlink nearly $900 million in subsidies, Elon Musk’s mother accused US President Joe Biden of hating her son’s attempts to “make this world a better place”.

  7. Rich people don’t care about social issues or ethics.

    It’s only about money.

  8. most of the biggest companies in tech have become absolutely diluded nutcases who think Liberalism and the Enlightenment were mistakes, even though they would not have the computers, internet, or businesses they have without a liberal society free to pursue scientific endevors instead of being serfs.

  9. …is this bit currency related?…those who get to make the rules make the loophole$…

  10. The answer is money. It’s always money with the billionaire class. Any other answer is just pablum for the masses.

  11. The only way to stick it to these rich self-serving assholes is to vote Blue. They are motivated by their constant pursuit of tax breaks and de-regulation of privacy laws so they can continue mining and profiting off of our personal data.

Fucking sick of the ultra rich fleecing this country and the working class. Voting against their interests is the only power that we actually have.

  12. Most if not all of them are crypto bros. They just want Trump and Vance to deregulate cryptos so that they can keep their ponzis going.

Vitalik Buterin is the only crypto bro that I can respect. The rest is just shady or outright scammy.

  13. Every one of these clowns: ie Zuck is terrified Trump is going to come after them if he is elected

The right demonized the tech platforms like google

Zuck needs to kiss the ring and hope Trump doesn’t hold him accountable for stuff like spreading misinformation and fake news

Elections have been hugely problematic for all the biggest tech platforms due to the increasing fake news / ai issue. The tech platforms are perceived as having the power to influence elections and the right wants to shut them down, so the tech tycoons kiss the ring to avoid that fate

I was a senior analyst for biggest Wall Street banks covering faang stocks and know these clowns personally and what is at stake

  14. JD Vance is just a vessel for Peter thiel, who is well connected to much of tech. It’s a hostel take over of America. I wouldn’t be surprised if they think they can control Trump or even remove him once he’s president. Then tech owns the country.

  15. Short and simple for everyone;

-massive tax breaks for the uber rich and deregulation of industries like AI, where these big corpo fucks can just go absolutely wild with no rules

Hoover up every single piece of data on Americans for their next big LLM model? No big deal in Trumps america

  16. All I hear is record profits but no taxes other than Joe Biden plan for them to get taxed after that it was Joe Biden this Joe Biden that

  17. Because he’s going to destroy worker protections and give them tax breaks?

  18. What they want is what they get from the usual conservative, lower taxes, an underfunded IRS that can’t get them when they cheat or get fancy, and legalized bribery in campaign finance. All normal Republican results if not all classical legit conservative values. BUT,

Trump will perhaps loosen taxes and regs but has no real reason to do anything for anybody but himself if he can swing the dictatorship he is openly seeking. Then, the big financiers face a greedy bottomless pit that can drone strike them if they don’t turn all their stock over to Melania. Sure, he might start with the never Trump CEOS, but business leaders need to look at the endless list of even the most rightwing Dictators who attacked private business once that supposed ‘pesky’ rule of law was gone. Putin on oligarchs, Xi on Jack Ma and all equity owners, Hitler on Krupp and others. 100% chance of those type of results. Also check those totalitarian stock markets if you want to see what it really does to business.

Be very, very careful what you wish for.

  19. Oligarchs horny to prop up oligarchy? :::Surprised Pikachu face:::

  20. Less regulation, less taxes, more power, less workers rights.

    Shocked pikachu face

  21. The second that Biden said he wanted to build an AI council Trump gained a bunch of SV billionaire supporters. The only perplexing one is Musk. I get that nazis are his bread and butter on twitter, but they can’t be making him more money that the subsidies that SpaceX and Tesla would close without. You know, the ones Trump says he’ll get rid of.

  22. He’s promising to cut taxes for their benefit and the American public will let it happen because we believe we’re going to get a cut of that slice of pie even though history shows those greedy fucks hoard it all for themselves.

  23. >Then there are issues in California, like rising taxes and a crime wave in San Francisco;

Being partially responsible for a problem by making the place near impossible to afford, not wanting to pay your fair share then blaming everyone else They are going to fit in perfectly

  24. Rich people don’t want to pay more tax.

    Saved you a click

  25. Hmmm… billionaires vote their pocketbooks? Who would have thought?
Welcome to the techno-oligarchy. Corporate Feudalism.

  26. Billionaires’ only allegiance is to their money and power.

  27. Money.

That’s all this article should read. They want money. You don’t have to be a rocket surgeon to figure it out.
