My friend and I are wondering what this is (probably) made of and if it’s not a synthetic material? Thanks in advance

  1. It seems to be a neck pendant, possibly made of animal bone (the pendant) and leather (the string).

  2. Reindeer horn. Theres also carved one on it.

Mostly made for tourists of neo-cool looking nips.

  3. Is it supposed to be reindeer antler? Looks like a tip of that. The string is nylon.

  4. If you were told this is a part of a reindeer antler, it probably is. Reindeer shed their antlers each year so it would be dumb to make fake ones. Fun fact; male reindeer shed their antlers after mating season in early December, so if Rudolph (and all them other ones) is pictured pulling Santa’s sleigh with antlers atop his head, that dude is a chick.

  5. I have the same for my keychain, pattern has worn off over the years. Can confirm reindeer antler, bought it in Kautokeino

  6. Reindeer antler tip with a doodle carved in. Very unlikely that someone has taken the time to get them made in plastic.

  7. Reindeer in Scandinavia; common (up north) and never something that raises eyebrows. Easy to find as meat (even though often very expensive). Fantastic camping food/snacks dried out.

Reindeer in the US; ‘Rudolph’ – a true unicorn, never seen in the wild, only in a few ‘theme parks’ or surfacing at shopping malls in early December, and no one would ever consider eating reindeer meat (see Rudolph).

  8. Thanks everyone for the help, very much appreciated!

  9. If that’s an emergency brake, probably plastic and metal.
