Does the answer matter? Like if I’d tell you: “Yes, they do work on weekends” or “No, they work on weekends” what does that change in your future approach?
In any case, to actually answer:
Sunday is a day in which in Germamy (!) generally no work is done, and there are legal limitations to work then. It could of course be that the companies you have applied to have outsourced their recruiting or have recruiters outside Germany (different time zones, different legal and cultural frameworks, etc.)
Yes, some of them do. If they work from home they might take a look at their inbox and check applications. It’s not that uncommon. Lots of recruiters are independent businesses themselves, they don’t have to follow all legal limitations, they are freelancers…
