Once Prosperous Russian Gas Industry Is Now in Despair: Because of Ukrainian Drones and Sanctions

The oil and gas industry has long been a major revenue source for Russia. In 2023, energy resource sales contributed a third of the country’s income. However, with European countries rejecting Russian gas and China’s reluctance to increase fuel imports, Gazprom faces significant losses. To offset these losses, domestic tariffs have been raised by over 11%, the highest in 11 years. Despite attempts to expand production, Gazprom’s previous earnings are unlikely to return.

  1. @UATV English please hire someone who can speak English. We can't understand anything this woman read. This is so horrible and makes no sense to make news when no one can understand it 😢

  2. Shame on Europe for buying ANY Energy products from Russia! It stopped gas for most EU countries BUT continues to buy LNG and oil! Stop it Europe!

  3. It’s not because of the drones it’s because of Putins stupid decision to attack Ukraine. The peace solution should include Putin standing trial at the international court of law for terrorism and war crimes

  4. What is that guy at the start taking, it doesn’t matter how much money Russia has it hasn’t got the technical expertise to build oil plants.

  5. Russia's entire economy is based on revenues from export of its natural resources. Attempting to switch the revenue stream to the internal market cannot work; the Russian people's income depends on that export market. Without it, the people have no money to buy the gas they are producing.

Vatnik Patootie's fantasy of returning to the Soviet-style authoritarian planned economy is a direct route to absolute catastrophe. The only enduring solution is to disband the Russian Federation entirely and allow the market to settle out in each of the many occupied territories. Of course, that means standing down the entire Russian military and selling off all of its assets with hope of raising enough to build viable, productive infrastructure in all the new republics.

  6. China has increase gas import shipment thru the Arctic, China is on RUSSIAs side. Ukraine Nazis will lose.
