Wish I could join you guys and help out on the ground. Still regret getting turned down by the I.L. recruiters due to a chronic illness.
Stay strong and let us know about whatever you need. This senseless invasion will be defeated one day and you better be there to see it!
Realists in International Relations would say that the good/evil narrative is just a propaganda overlay to justify Ukraine and its allies’ irrational resistance to Russia’s inherently legitimate “security concerns.” Fuck realists. Russians are fucking evil and have been for centuries. My family knows. I’m American (my mother was the first American generation) because they didn’t want to live in the Russian Empire anymore. I don’t think the chaos of the revolutionary period at the beginning of the 20th century helped much. All of this while being Jewish, not a popular ethnicity at that time, not just in Germany. In any event, I’m glad they left and I finally understand why they stopped speaking Russian, even in the home. It was never their language.
Anyway, Slava Ukraini!
Beautiful country full of wonderful people, except the russian toilet thieves who are temporarily there.
There is one type of permament russian we don’t mind, if you get what I mean.
That is a picture if I see one, those Russians need to go
It’s great to see a picture of the real Ukrainian countryside. One day soon all the ravaged fields and tree lines will bounce back.
I needed to see some green fields today.
Remove the armored vehicle and this is literally one of the basic views all manner of human beings have enjoyed in various array, for endless centuries.
I had this experience when I went to Italy for an entire summer, and stayed mainly at one place, near Assisi. Every evening and every morning I would look out across the valley. I started to feel as if time belongs to the earth, really. I’m just a lucky soul passing through. It was the simplicity of it that got me.
What a great secret. Ukraine understands it. Millions do. And Russia can’t blame bad weather. I have friends in Sweden. You would hardly know they deal with an endless twilight regularly. Just fold it in.
That is a bad ass photo with a beautiful field of sunflowers!
