Hello, I am from the US and I plan on marrying an Estonian Citizen who already lives in Finland. She is a student in Finland. We have lived in Finland together before for half a year under an unrelated residence permit and have lived together in the US under the 90 visa exempt period.
I would like to arrive in Finland visa free, marry her, and then apply for the residence card for spouses of an EU Citizen and wait for the application while in Finland (as is required for this sort of application).
According to the European Union's website, since she is a student, I am required to meet an income requirement and have comprehensive medical insurance, however on Migri's Website for the application, there is nothing about such requirements nor is there even the option to provide such information in the application.
I would rather not be subject to the income requirement since I could then apply for a much longer lasting residence permit, such as for 5 years, without needing to provide proof that I have savings that would last 5 years.
Here is a link to the paper version of the application so that you may reed without needing to make an account on enterfinland.fi
