President Biden put the country first and has cemented a political legacy that began as the youngest man ever elected to the Senate all the way to being the oldest President.
He did the patriotic thing because he is a man of character.
He put his country before himself. This secures Joe’s legacy
History will look back on him as a fantastic president. Thank you for your service Joe Biden.
That’s my fucking president! Thank you Joe!
After sitting with this news for a while, I’m actually feeling physically relieved and kind of excited to see Harris’ energy enter this race
No dogs in this race. Canadian.but Biden bowing out is the game changer that was needed. Next 4 months are going to be intense and interesting.
Can I just say it is so fitting that this is all happening on National Ice Cream Day
Remember how maga attacked his family. Remember how he endured their abuse with perseverance. Those are now brands of honor. Retiring after a successful career is nothing to apologize for and everything to celebrate!
I was convinced that Biden would remain the nominee for as long as he wanted it, and was *also* convinced that he would never give up the position.
Of course, I was wrong about him continuing on, but my admiration for him hasn’t changed. He seems to be a good, caring man, who I’m glad was our president for the past three years.
His legacy is preserved now. Looking forward to seeing someone roast Trump in a debate, though!
You done good Joe.
The big question now is how many people that would have voted for Biden will not vote for Harris?
If you are one of them, I’d love to hear you’re thinking.
I’m guessing there won’t be too many.
Uncle Joe did his part. Now it’s time for us to do ours.
I have gained so much more respect for Biden and his family, especially how much he has gone through in his life and he kept going and still was able to make a decision that benefits all Americans.
He always had my vote, and Harris will have my vote. Defeat Project 2025.
Nothing but love for that guy. He’s not perfect but he’s got integrity, a heart and a conscience. Try to enjoy retirement Joe. You e earned it
President Biden dedicated his entire adult life to public service. He deserves to enjoy his family and bask in the rewards of his life in service. A very decent human and a very dedicated American. Thank you Mr President.
It’s unbelievable what he accomplished in his presidency.
The choices Biden made will be remembered as some of the most important a US President has ever made. Perhaps one of the most important, despite his stubbornness getting there, stepping aside for the good of your party and your country. The more I read about Kamala the more hope I have our history books won’t condemn this time in our history, assuming we’d still have history books if Kamala were to lose.
We love you Joe, what an honorable human being.
“You can always count on Americans to do the right thing, after they have exhausted all the other possibilities”. Churchill, supposedly
The President did what the country needed him to do. Begrudgingly, but he still got there, and in time for it to matter.
Most important resignation since Washington. Thank you Joe!
this is what real patriotism looks like
Expect multiple schools and libraries named after him. Biden High.
We got you Joe!
He’s still going to be important to pull the union in. He’s still got work to do
That’s what America first looks like
I put President Biden on the same level as President Washington at this point. He gave up power for the benefit of democracy. Tell me I’m wrong .
So much respect for him. A career politician who has a shot at being the most powerful person in the world and he has the courage to step aside. Not many could do that
Good fuckin shit Biden
He’s following the lead of George Washington. That’s a pretty good lead.
He did a tough thing and stuffed his ego for the greater good. Half the DNC should be celebrating him and thanking him, and the other half kicking fascist ass.
Political baller
Thank you! And now it’s time to use your SCOTUS affirmed power and go full Dark Brandon in your final 6 months and make some changes other presidents have been too scared to make.
Joe’s northern light was what he thought was best for our country, and I greatly appreciate his fight.
He’s done so much.
He’s done enough.
Let’s give him rest and we take the fight
Thank you Joe! Much respect!!
Respect for keeping the orange buffon out of office for one period, more respect for doing the same and letting some other more fit do the same… The world thank you Joe!
I have so much respect and admiration for Joe Biden. I was really looking forward to voting for him in November. But after watching the debate I just couldn’t see how he was going to win.
Thank you Joe for doing the right thing for your party and your country. A lifetime of public service ending bravely and well.
There is no greater contrast he could have created and no greater sacrifice he could have made.
Biden and the democrats message is “it’s not about me, it’s about us”
Trump’s message has been and will always be “it’s all about me”
We can win!
Didn’t he kinda reluctantly run in 2020, just to beat Trump? Then used his experience in the White House as VP to hit the ground running and start fixing shit once he was president. And now willing to pass the torch to Harris to ensure we beat Trump again? Biden has done so much for his country.
With the new rules of the president being able to do whatever he wants, Biden should just spend the rest of his term doing anything his dark Biden mind can think of. Show the other side how it can be really done.
Biden is good people. He always has been
A national hero
I know this was posted a while ago, and most people won’t see this, but I have to point out all the great stuff Biden has done that the media just doesn’t talk much about
* Inflation reduction act helps average Americans afford EVs and solar power, and is the largest investment into green energy over the next decade out of any president
* Biden is responsible for some of the lower unemployment rates in history, and has created millions of jobs
* Chips act has been largely responsible for the massive increase in new fabs being built in the US right now, and has allocated billions to advanced medical and Ai based research
* Infrastructure bill has helped to build up American roads and has been one of the only federal bills attempting to close the funding gaps most local transit agencies face, along with allocating billions to new Amtrak lines
* PACT act helps former veterans get healthcare, especially those affected by agent orange in the Vietnam war. It’s one of the largest bills helping veterans in the 21st century.
* Safer Communities act helped bring billions in funding for mental health, family, veterans and drug courts, has helped to make schools safer from guns and gun violence, and has closed multiple loopholes used by abusers to continue getting away with abuse. It’s the largest investment and bill made to help the most vulnerable Americans out there.
* Respect for marriage act helps to protect minorities, interracial couples, and LGBTQ+ if Loving v Virginia or Obergefell v Hodges ever get overturned
* Appointed judges that, on average, are moderate and have the most average experience levels of any president(compared to Trump at the least)
* Made NATO stronger. Remember all those times Trump said NATO wasn’t paying their fair share? Well, under Biden the number has gotten to its highest levels since the Cold War, and it’s added new member states
* Made multiple executive orders to protect some reproductive rights
* Made multiple executive orders pertaining to Ai and Nvidia, both of which are very much Biden admin creations
* Helped to boost some of the largest economic growth and actually stayed off a recession when most economists said it was inevitable
* Has done more for student loans than all other presidents, pretty much combined
* Pardoned and protected marijuana use
* Lowest uninsured rate in American history
If Ben & Jerry’s doesn’t name an ice cream flavor after Joe it’s a crime.
Biden is a remarkable human and was a great president. He suffered a lot in his life and overcame many challenges. He became president during a pandemic and a world in turmoil and he was a steadying force. The US fared much better in the last 4 years than the most of the rest of the developed world. He has put country over ego which and we are all better for it. He could have pardoned his son but he didn’t; he could have stayed in this race but he didn’t. I believe his decisions will be viewed favorably by history for a long time. I am very thankful for him and hope he enjoys the retirement he has earned.
Thanks for all that you’ve done, Joe. My sincere best wishes to you and yours.
This monumental moment by Biden is a way bigger sign of strength and worthiness as a president and leader, than just being shot at during a hate-speech, getting lucky, then spewing 93 minutes of hate while caked in orange makeup.
