  1. If you look at the diversity of the England men’s team at the Euros, then the number of black and Asian referees in the Premier League should be much bigger than they are.

  2. ill support anyone that isn’t Anthony Taylor mate

  3. Couldn’t they have just done it rather than talk about it. Articles like this just make it out like the only concern when appointing is skin colour, and I don’t think any of us want to live in a world where that is a concern of anyone.

  4. ***Incoming Joey Barton tweets about meritiocracy and women not being able to understand the men’s game.***

  5. man the refs are already incompetent af and now they will selected based on skin colour and not abilities. well …. good job continuing the Shitification of Football.

  6. I used to love football but over the last 10yr that feeling’s gone and it’s not coming back.🤡😎

  7. Because what we need from our officials is less meritocracy.

  8. Just going to put facts here. All from 2022.

    Percent of premier players that are black is 43%.
    Percent of black refs across all levels of English football is 8%.
    Percent of black coaches across all levels of English football is 4.4%.

  9. As a football fan I really don’t give a shit what colour the ref or lino is, as long as he does a decent job. But, forcing diversity doesn’t fix any of the problems with the current officials, either, because they aren’t bad because they’re white – they’re just bad.

  10. Omg i really could not give a shit. Forcing diversity doesnt fix any problems. yes there is a % difference, thats not because people are racist or any of that nonsense. Its simply becsuse they are not good enough. You cant see a top team hiring sombody based on ethnicity, religion; sexual preferences… it comes down to are you good enough to be in that position!

    D.E.I = DIDNT EARN IT.
