Joe Biden’s exit from the 2024 campaign and the rise of Vice President Kamala Harris as the leading contender for the Democratic ticket has provoked a nuclear-level meltdown from the right — especially from Donald Trump.
“It’s not over! Tomorrow Crooked Joe Biden’s going to wake up and forget that he dropped out of the race today!” the former president wrote on Truth Social late Sunday night, hours after Biden announced he would be suspending his campaign in an open letter on social media.
In a series of Truth Social posts, Trump also complained that he had been unfairly forced to spend money campaigning against Biden, and even suggested that “the Republican Party be reimbursed for fraud” now that he wouldn’t be running against the president.

They had a fairly easy job attacking Biden on his age.
Harris is significantly harder to attack, and at the same time she’s already showing she’s willing to go for every single one of Trump’s weak points.
The obvious attacks aren’t politically correct. They cannot attack her for being a woman. They can’t attack her for not being white. But the dog whistles will be deafening.
They’ve already tried a bizarre birther conspiracy move by saying she isn’t eligible to run because her parents weren’t American citizens. Birther conspiracy is seen by the right as a safe way to inject a degree of racism into the debate, as they tried with Obama.
We’ll have to see what kind of strategy they come up with, but their options seem few and far between.
It’s hilarious that all that anti-Biden merch they bought is worthless now.
Of course they are – that’s what happens when your campaign is based on “the other guy sucks and shouldn’t even be running for president,” instead of actual policy, issues, and an outline for your 2nd term.
One way or another they got what they wanted – they won – Joe Biden will not be the president in 2025. Good job. It just happened a few months early.
Now they have to pivot from “Biden is too old, Biden is a radical leftwing socialist, Biden is this, Biden is that,” and they have to go up against a seasoned prosecutor, legal expert, minority woman, who’s 2 decades younger than Trump, and who will, God willing, pick a millenial VP.
I certainly have issues with Kamala and her track record as a DA and some of the things she did – but those things, for better or for worse, make her immune to “weak on crime” attacks.
When you combine that with the fact that Biden secured the boarder with NO help from republicans, inflation is under control, unemployment is near historic lows, a rate cut is all but certain, the stock market is near record highs, and a really wonderful legislative track record of which Kamala was a tie breaking vote a lot of the time, and Trump has a huge problem.
Also, and finally, if you take republican talking points at face value: Biden is a dementia patient with severe mental and physical challenges that make him unfit to run and unfit to lead – if you take all of that as fact – and you realize that Trump was, at best, beating Biden by one or two percentage points and uh oh. Now you have a much younger, much more articulate, tough, proven leader, who will attract women and minorities, in addition to younger voters and man. I just don’t know what they’re gonna do.

They could replace Trump if they really thought he was a bad candidate, right? Oh, that’s right. The GOP is a cult now, a party that evolves only around one personality. They have no platform to run on. Anyone that challenged their Dear Leader was evicted or threatened with worse (Cheney).

Trump has been very comfortable against Biden. Been phoning it in for months. This is a whole a whole new game.
I think that this is a sure sign that Biden did the right thing.
While the risk of another Trump term is insanely high, it’s worth remembering that there is also a big risk to Republicans if Trump loses:
– Trump himself and many of his allies are facing criminal prosecution. They’re hoping President Trump can make all that disappear.
– 2 of the Conservative SCOTUS Justices are old. Republicans will certainly replace them with younger justices if Trump wins, giving them a lock on SCOTUS for probably 30 years. But if Trump loses, there is a *chance* that one or both of them will not make it to see 2028, giving Dems a chance at getting a liberal majority.
– If Trump loses again, what are the odds that he *insists* on running again in 2028? Will an 82 year old Trump have the ability to campaign or will he leave the GOP dead in the water with no viable candidate?
It’s because they have nothing. Their platform was like 17 fucking pages of biblical nonsense. Their leader is a convicted felon whose main defense is “nuh uh”. Their base is a flock of cult driven weirdos and zealots that we all got to watch in 4K.
Please burn this party to the ground, Kamala. They are so vulnerable to a person like you right now.
They are pissed after getting what they wanted. Did Trump think we was going to run uncontested? Now, they want Biden to resign as well, putting the very person they want to disqualify in the presidential role.
