Voices: 2024 is history’s tipping point for climate change

1. I’d argue when the oil companies figured out that what they were doing was slowly going to cook the planet and then chose to do just about everything in their power to hide and deflect that information in pursuit of profit and power, is history’s “tipping point” for climate change. Those who had the most capacity to change where we were headed chose to do the opposite. To me that’s the real moment.

   To say that right now, after years/decades of oil companies lobbying against addressing the issue, is the tipping point is a pretty wild take.

2. Hands up for everyone who’s sick of living in unprecedented times. Late stage capitalism combined with climate change has really sucked so far

4. I think it feels like a tipping point due to the upcoming USA presidential election. It really will be a huge deal for the environment and climate!

6. NGL I think we’re past that tipping point. At this point we’d have to work to reverse climate change.
