They might look silly but what they’re actually doing is a good job of deescalating the situation. Too many times we see videos on Reddit where police don’t back up and instead go on the offense when there is just no reason to.
Backing up is often a good option for many different reasons. It doesn’t have to mean they’re somehow incompetent or scared, they’re just trying to deescalate the situation and not hurt the guy, whoever he is. He didn’t seem that dangerous, maybe he’s an autistic kid or something and I think the police handled the situation admirably.
But it’s fun to meme of course.
I’ve seen small rodents that are more threatening than this guy.
Joke of a police force. Not only are they and the public obviously more in danger when they’re doing their jobs but they’re putting the nutcases they have to deal with in more danger too.
If you can’t handle a mentally ill person comfortably then the chances of you resorting to excessive force in self defence is much higher.
The trend of weakening police forces has to stop. Spain and France do it right. Rest of europes police forces look like the only arrests they should be concerned about are the cardiac kind.
