>We understand the interest in and impact of this case, and will be progressing the investigation at pace. We are committed to completing our investigations proportionately, fairly and impartially.
Ron Burgundy “I don’t believe you” gif.
*’Ahem, as is required, we have passed on some evidence to Mi5. They will now be launching their own investigation. Therefore we cannot mention anything of a criminal nature until the investigation of Mi5 is complete.’*
Am I right in saying the only thing that will come out of this will probably be fines for the MPs involved? They deserve more than that relative slap on the wrist.
So, they actually have to “investigate” now and look at the 300 photos and 500 pages of documents (evidence).
> If following an investigation, officers believe it is appropriate, because the Covid regulations have been breached without a reasonable excuse, a fixed penalty notice would normally be issued. Once the penalty is paid, the matter is considered closed. Alternatively individuals may decide to dispute the notice. In these circumstances officers will consider whether to pursue the matter in a magistrates’ court.
Note they’re desperate to ONLY focus on the COVID regulations?
Hoping to be able to continue to ignore all the other criminality that they find.
My biggest take from this, is that they haven’t even decided who they are going to investigate. This could potentially go on for months, as no arrests have been made and getting information could be down to ministers schedules which would be “too full” to facilitate officers.
