  1. >*BUDAPEST, July 22 (Reuters) – Hungary and Slovakia have asked the European Commission to mediate a consultation procedure with Ukraine, Hungary’s foreign minister said on Monday, after Kyiv placed Russian group Lukoil on a sanctions list, stopping its supplies to the two countries.*

    >*Slovakia and Hungary have stepped up pressure on Kyiv after they said last week they had stopped receiving oil from Lukoil via Ukraine. Hungary receives 2 million metric tonnes of oil from the Russian group annually, around a third of its total oil imports, Peter Szijjarto said.*

    >*”I spoke with the Ukrainian foreign minister yesterday, he said they allow every oil transfer through, but it’s not true,” Szijjarto told reporters while in Brussels. The two countries have now initiated a consultation with the European Commission, he said.*

    >*”The Commission has three days to execute our request, after which we will bring the issue to court.”*

    >*Szijjarto said if the consultation procedure did not bear fruit, Hungary and Slovakia will bring the issue to an international court of their choosing instead.*

IMO the EC should say we need unanimity for mediation. So start looking for friends who will support you Szijjarto. And now GTFO.

  2. Courts tend to be slow in these parts and these matters…

  3. Ha ha, the Ukraine has a bargaining chip to convince the clowns not to boycott EU support.

  4. slovakia and hungary had plenty of time to find an alternative to russia’s oil, but they chose not to do so. Big mistake.

  5. Maybe a trade is order. Weapons for Oil? You are not getting it for nothing 🤙 Its called karma bitches…

  6. EU: transfer weapons for energy security

    Hungary: no

    Mediation over.

  7. wait, say that again, it’s so loud here in Brussel.

  8. Lmao, I wonder how many times the European Commission has asked them to be reasonable.

  9. The countries without a moral compass. Orban is Hungary’s Mussolini.

  10. Finally. I never understood why We got exception anyways. I’m from Slovakia and I’m so ashamed by what my country representatives are doing.

  11. What would be the actual goodwill or leverage that would make the EC want to try?

  12. Did they miss the “stop using Russian fuel and find alternatives” memo?

  13. Rest of EU: How about no? (Just to get Orban a taste of his own words) 😂😂😂

  14. Why are they funding Putin’s evil campaign. They should both obtain their oil and gas elsewhere like everyone else!
