  1. I thought he already had. He’s had such a rough few years and just never really got back to standard.

  2. He’s had a great career and already had his Olympics shot is it not a bit selfish that’s he’s still here?
He’s the 5th ranked men’s player and only 4 can play in the singles. Even if someone ahead of him is injured it would be a great opportunity for one of the lower ranked players.

  3. I hope he does well, and doesn’t have to withdraw due to injury.

  4. I can’t help but feel like his time to retire came and went a long time ago now.

All the best to him – but I don’t think we’re going to see him bow out in a blaze of glory with some fairytale ending.

  5. Should have quit years ago. He achieved success, wins, financial security, a legacy, business portfolio and can provide for his family.

The level of destruction he has inflicted on his body to the extent of needing hip resurfacing surgery – should have been hint enough.

  6. He’s had a good career and set himself up for life with a ton of money. And he’s still young. Suspect he will move into punditry now, or fulfil his Scottish destiny and become a full-blown alcoholic.
