1. Are they demonstrating against the elite or against the far-right? Or do they think these are the same people?

2. This isn’t new. It’s the third year the Anarchist Party is coordinating this protest camp. It’s pretty much a protest against the continued gentrification of the Sylt Island. Many parts of the Island have essentially turned into gated communities for rich elites and Landlords while the previous inhabitants are forced to move to the mainland because they can no longer afford to live there.

3. I have been to Sylt with my wife a couple of years ago.
   I enjoyed my stay there, but if you don’t pay… you literally cannot see the sea or enter any beach.

   It is an extreme situation there.

4. You can frame this however you want, but

   A: Sylt is a favorite destination for super wealthy people, but there are also lot’s of other tourists there

   B: They don’t really do any “protesting”. They camp out in the city center where locals and regular people are and completely trash the place, pissing everywhere and leaving trash/broken bottles around.

   This isn’t some left wing activist group. These are mostly anti-government and anti-capitalist degenerates that have some loose anti-right ideology as well. But since left=good these people are somehow portrayed as the good guys.

5. Mark my words, these kinds of protests will go horribly wrong at some point. It always does.

6. They are not protesting the elites, they don’t protest at/near Sylt community, but instead trash the city, they are making things hard for the average people.

The alternative/edgy/punk scene isn’t my so I’m not that interested in their demonstration or their politics, but one part of the article was interesting, about people whose ancestors got rich idirectly or indirectly through the nazis and live a stress free life in places like Sylt. Some people made huge gains from the nazi era, put it into land/property, more later on things like stocks, and are basically like ‘old money’ in the US and UK, people who never really work (apart from managing their properties/land and even then they can employ someone to do that) who just get richer without doing anything for it. Regardless of the Nazi aspect (the US/UK/French/Dutch etc comparison would be getting rich from slavery I guess) it highlights the issue of wealth in the Western world.

   Most governments go after wage earners for taxes but they don’t tax assets. To me that is the main problem with wealth today, htere is no meritocracy or hard work involved, just who your dad/grandad/great whatever was. In te UK basically nobody is getting rich through work, the taxation system means that even high sector proffesionals are often only about twice as better off than minimum wage and even essential mid level proffesionals like nurses are only slightly better off than minimum wage, for a very stressful job
