Hei! We’re on our honeymoon, riding our bikes from Bergen to Tromso and are loving your stunning country! We stopped in Trondheim for a rest day to dry ourselves and our gear, and would like to jump ahead on our journey a bit to give us more time to spend later in the Lofoten Islands. We’re thinking it would be great to get to Brønnøysund tomorrow (Wednesday 24 July), but it doesn’t seem like there’s a way to do it:

  • no ferries that we can find
  • a train to a bus, but the trains don’t have bicycle seats available and there’s no way of knowing if the buses will allow bicycles
  • renting a car seemed like a good option but is very expensive
  • maybe flying but no direct routes?

Are we missing something? Do you have any advice? Or better yet: do you happen to be driving a camper or other large vehicle with room for 2 people and 2 bicycles from Trondheim to Brønnøysund or thereabouts tomorrow? 🙂

Takk!

  1. Though travelling on a bike is great (during summer) in Norway, travelling WITH a bike is an experience that can give you actual PTSD because of how awful it is.

That being said, you could try Hurtigruten: [https://www.hurtigruten.com/nb-no/havn-til-havn](https://www.hurtigruten.com/nb-no/havn-til-havn)

  2. There’s a group called Fraktekrigen on Facebook where trailer drivers and otherwise people driving with extra room can take on stuff like this. You might want to ask there 🙂
