I just can’t believe that that dodgy looking guy with a van that offered to dispose of my rubbish for a fraction of the market rate didn’t do it in a legal manner

https://youtu.be/Ugkt8lgC-3w?feature=shared reminds me of this classic
Reminds me of a funny/not funny story from years back.
Rushing out to work (pub) one evening and didn’t bother taking in the empty bin.
Came home after work, went to take in the bin, and immediately felt weight in it, clearly someone had put rubbish in it. I took out the two bags and just left them at the entrance to the property. Fuck me they were heavy bags too.
Next morning, leaving the apartment and there’s the the contents of the bags all over the driveway/parking spaces of the apartments. Property owners were there with the Gards.
Was all food waste from a local restaurant, dogs or birds or whatever had ripped the bags open.
The owners of the property had been going through the waste that morning and found bills or whatever in amongst the food.
I just played dumb…. “jesus, what happened here”

Should have been named,
Wife and I were at a glass bottle recycling bin. Had some glass jars in a small wicker basket we have in the kitchen for empty’s. Wifey left it on top of the glass bin and 2 weeks later received a 150 euro fine in the door for dumping.
Most people do not give a shit where rubbish goes once it leaves their house as long as it is away from them.
Yeah but was his name Dumpy McGee?
This happened to my neighbour. Seemingly respectable company just drove around the corner and dumped it behind a hedge.
Good.
People don’t seem to understand that it’s your responsibility to get your wast taken care of correctly.
Like in this story, just because you pay someone else to do it, it’s still your responsibility that it ends up in the right waste facility.
“Paid a guy off Facebook…”
I work in social media and I love how it’s opened up avenues for small businesses to market easier and not have to pay extortion for a billboard or news paper piece etc…then there’s moments like this.
See if a place as a website, yelp, Google reviews or one other social media presence before allowing them to do anything.
She did that herself. Scruff
It was too good to be true. How could I possibly have known it wasn’t true.
That fine is way too low
I thought he’d eat it.
Ahh the Shaggy defense

She didn’t pay anything. She dumped it herself and got caught.
She paid a lad? Show the transaction or receipt or just name the lad on Facebook. Onus is on you till you can prove or at least show otherwise.
Reminds me of a time some lad showed up to the door selling a Gamecube for €50 when they were all the rage. My father wouldn’t buy it. “Dad a Gamecube is worth about €150, you don’t understand tech that’s a great deal”.
He said he could have gotten it for €15 but it was 100% stolen and he’d never pay it. Which I never considered. Somethings are too good to be true and you need to learn the difference between a bargain and scam.
Privatisation of waste collection was one of the worst environmental decisions the state ever made. I’d love to see a political party highlight this.
