6. Its a nothingburger, just politics, we’ve watched this a dozens times . Since the funds are approved and at some point in the future will become available, some institution or country quietly executes a ‘bridge loan ‘with the aid as collateral, and nothing really stops. Meanwhile, the EU is already working with the oil industry to ensure that the oil Hungary needs is available from other sources and other delivery vectors and if it costs a little more, topping up Hungary’s annual assistance fund. Hungary keeps trying to pull Slovakia into the argument- the embargo effects them just the same- but Slovakia doesn’t have any internal political reasons to take a swipe at Ukraine and so is just waiting out the process with only minor grumbles to move it along.
