    Russian soldiers from Moscow will now earn almost £50,000 for their first year of service, the city has announced, about four times the average annual wage.

    The hiked payment – which includes sign-up bonuses, monthly wages and regional handouts – is part of the Kremlin’s drive to find the 25,000 men a month [it needs to sustain its front-line force in Ukraine](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/russia-ukraine-war/).

    “The total amount of payments to a contract serviceman (taking into account monthly salary and Moscow and federal support measures) will exceed 5.2 million rubles [£46,147] for the first year of service,” Moscow’s city administration said in an announcement on Tuesday.

    The generous scheme includes a one-time payment of 1.9 million rubles (£16,863) that is only available to residents of the Russian capital.

  14. 50k will get paid up front to actual blood born russian and trained private military contracts because they are few and far between. Prince Obungo and Fuckdeep Kaur, who get used testing g mine fields and seeing where the bullets come from get a hot load of dick upfront.

  17. Putler will do anything to avoid a full mobilization. Putler knows that if he fully mobilizes and conscripts ethnic Russians (especially in Moscow and St. Petersburg) he will begin to politicize them. And while he can co-opt some of them as they “wake up” politically, he cannot do this with all of them and that means full mobilization is too politically risky at this time.

    While all Russians are responsible for this disgusting war on Ukraine, they will NOT fight back against Putler until his inner circle begins to collapse and is SEEN to be collapsing. I would say roughly 1/4 of Russians want to get involved in changing things but they also don’t want to risk their lives fruitlessly.

    Putler’s inner circle is very unlikely to rise up against him. He has co-opted them into his war and smothered them in the blood of Ukrainians. To the point that they are just as guilty as he is and therefore, are unwilling to break away.

  19. It isn’t surprising at all that the Russian state is making such high offers for recruits. Dead soldiers don’t get paid so it will cost them very little. Unless they change their strategy and stop sending waves of untrained people to their deaths, any amount is going to be far too little to make a difference.

  34. lol, I was offered a $25k reenlistment bonus to remain being a cook in the Marines and turned it down. 50k seems super low considering Russia has lost more troops in 1.5 years then we lost since 1980.

For those who don’t know: this summer number of people signed contracts for military service dipped under 1k/day for the first time during the conflict, that’s like, REALLY bad news for their war effort. Aside from 1k+ everyday loses ONLY confirmed, they need much more people to not only expand, but to maintain current push rate.
