  6. It’s crazy Biden was able to win in 2020 despite limiting rallies due to the pandemic. Having Dem rallies to boost morale and energize voters is going to be a huge advantage this time around.

  8. Watched it the energy and enthusiasm is exactly what Democrats needed. She did not come across as unlikable or uncharacteristic as many claim. She came across as confident and ready for the fight.

  13. Democrats have been so desperate to get excited for this campaign and it’s just been impossible…until now.

    The entire narrative just flipped on its head. Now Trump will get hammered by the press when he starts a sentence and can’t finish, when he says the wrong word, when he forgets a name, when he rambles incoherently. He’s been doing it A LOT, but it doesn’t get covered because of Biden.

    Now Harris is speaking like someone on the top of her game and hitting all the right points. It’s exciting to know she will do hours and hours and hours of public speaking in the next few months – i hope she just hammers home this message right here.

  14. I was one of the holdouts not wanting Biden to drop out this close to the race. I’m glad that Kamala is making the waves she is, and for the unified support she’s getting. I even saw a post saying Andrew “spoiler party” Yang endorsed her.

    I actually feel good about November. Let’s keep this pace up!

  16. This is going to be an uphill battle for sure, and it’s reassuring to see every political strategist treat this delicately instead of another 2016. Messaging has been deliberate, strategic, and Kamala is beginning work immediately.

    That said, from a human standpoint, man, is it so nice to have hope for once. It’s so nice to see the collective outpouring of support from all walks of life. After the last 3 weeks, seeing unity, respect of Biden’s administration, and what the future could look like is so exciting. I love watching rallies and interviews and not having to hold my breath about weather Joe Biden’s stutter will dominate the airwaves. I love seeing my own party energized because they like someone, not because they feel like they have to support a default choice.

    I’ve watched a lot of the different network’s coverage of the event, and what is telling is how many people looked like they were about to cry talking about all of this. So many people look like they took a breath for the first time in weeks.

    And yes, the election will be close. Yes, there will be attacks of racism, sexism, and hopefully policy for once. But after the last few weeks of a national nightmare, it’s nice to have something positive for a few days before buckling down to start working again. I’m so happy for Kamala and what the future of the democratic party could look like if we pull this off.

  23. In 2020 Dems voted for the safe candidate in Biden. It wasn’t flashy. It wasn’t ground breaking. It was safe. Biden delivered above and beyond expectations and steered this country in the right direction.

    When he sought reelection the Dems were supportive, but weary. The debate underlined their fears.

    Harris is a breath of fresh air. She’s sunshine after years of gloomy skies. You bet your ass we’re energized. We’ve been waiting eight years to choose a candidate that’s more than a steady hand after years of chaos under Trump. Vote for the future. Vote Harris.

    They just spent a whole convention attacking someone who is no longer running, & have spent a ton of campaign resources on a specific person which all needs to be scrapped for a square-one campaign reset. All the comments about Biden’s age now just apply to their candidate lmao.

    The historic handoff from Biden completely captured the news cycle & anything that may have been said at the convention is completely drowned out. Hell, more people are talking about this than the assassination attempt at this point.

    That’s without even touching the fact that she is younger, sharper, more coherent, a LAWYER, & former prosecutor. She will eviscerate him in a debate. Shouldn’t matter, but she’s also physically attractive, while Trump looks like a fossilized wash rag someone used to clean a varnish spill.

    Meanwhile, the Dems get to tune the VP ticket to counter Vance directly in a way Republicans hadn’t anticipated.

    I do not understand how anyone can spin an ounce of this as good for the Trump camp.

    Last point: to the masses in this sub who downvoted & disparaged all of us who said this was a good idea for MONTHS, please spare us your political “expertise” in the future.

  38. I liked her speech. She came at Trump, but more of the time was focused on what we can make this country. And any attack she gave him was done so with an example of why she was attacking him in that way such as his court losses.
