  1. Here’s hoping we’re all just being extra cautious and it turns out to be nothing more than a drill!

  2. All nations are at a constant state of alert all the time nowadays.

  3. Sooner if Trump wins and pulls out of NATO.

    It’s 50/50 toss-up right now polling wise.

  4. 3 years?

What makes them think they have that much time?

  5. This is not concerning at all: “But he said war was not inevitable and the Army had ’just enough time’ to prepare itself to avoid conflict.”

  6. You can’t escape it anymore. Russia is coming after they have destroyed Ukraine. Russia has plans to annihilate all of Europe. Their leaders are constantly repeating this. You should believe what they say.

Europe needs a lot of nuclear weapons, in the end nukes are the only way to stop Russia.

  7. So….. Canada’s military head just released this same statement about a week ago.

You may think she’s an idiot and doesn’t deserve the position, maybe that’s true maybe not (controversy around it)

That’s irrelevant, what is really bothering me is the pattern of two military heads in a week saying they need to build their militaries up and prepare for war within three years

What the fuck. For real? I thought this shit was done and we were beyond this. Never would have thought I’d see this in my lifetime. Would China really attack or will it be the West attacking to protect the quazi democracy we live in?

I would take the quazi democracy over communism any day though.

  8. I hate to be a pessimist here, but the UK should be ready for war within one year.

  9. Do not fight for a country whose leaders are flooding it with the 3rd world.

  10. What would a western nation losing a war even look like? Would Russia start moving citizens in and building apartments

  11. I strongly believe China will take Taiwan by 2030. However, I believe 2027 is their current target.

  12. If Trump gets elected and aids Russia, as he will, it will be sooner than three years.

  13. I’m ready now , where are the Rus…

Sorry , I meant genocidal murderous terrorist rapist child stealing Russians, who will never again be welcome in Britain, on account of the fact that they are unapologetic thugs and murderers that enjoy bombing childrens hospitals and maternity wards?

I apologise for not using their full name, I won’t make that mistake again.

  14. I would love to think Putin will be dead by then, but hey, the bastard will probably live til 150 trying to make USSR whole again.

  15. Russia can’t handle Ukraine how will they handle attacking the rest of Europe?

  16. Here’s something I noticed in the article:

    >He said: “It doesn’t matter how it ends. I think **Russia** will emerge from it probably weaker objectively – or absolutely – but still very, very dangerous and wanting some form of retribution for what we have done to help Ukraine.”
He also warned that **China** was intent on retaking Taiwan, and **Iran** was likely to pursue nuclear weapons.

So the common factor here is that all 3 highlighted nations are BRICS members. And before you flap your hands and say “so what” just remember that a trade organization can easily serve as a scaffold for a political and military structure.

In this case, it already seems to be happening. Iran has been supplying Russia with drones, missiles and whatever else. China has been a bit more circumspect. But they’d rather see a Ukrainian stalemate than anything resembling a NATO victory.

Imo, we are still in the early stages of WWIII. Do I care that the media hasn’t yet decided to call it what it is? Nope. But it is what it is.

Germany/Japan lost WWII because (in large part) they couldn’t match the manufacturing might of the USA.

Today, I wonder if the same holds true. Except this time, I wonder if the West can match the combined power of Russia and Iran, backed up by the manufacturing might of China.

And now that I’ve had a chance to make some valid points… The statement by the UK Army head sounds like they’re thinking about defending their own asses more than they’re thinking about winning somewhere else.

  17. as a millennial I can’t wait to die at the frontlines of some stupid war while zoomers and boomers stay home, seriously it’s a perfect closure for 3.5 decades of constantly getting fucked

  18. Hopefully they don’t need to be and hopefully the preparation goes well… but aren’t you ready now?

  19. I can imagine china will attack taiwan in 3 years. And since china is basically in a coalition with russia and iran now, this could mean a conflict in east asia or a bigger conflict in ukraine.

Pistorius the german minister of defence said nearly the same as the UK army head. I think they know something we don’t.

  20. In seven years, they’ll be ready three years from then.

  21. Honestly, Albania’s bunkerification under Hoxha was often mocked, but looking at the situation in Ukraine, it seems like having a bunch of pre-built bunkers might not have been such a bad idea. If Ukraine had a similar setup before things escalated, it could have provided crucial civilian shelter and military defense. Maybe it’s time to reconsider the practicality of such defensive measures in today’s geopolitical climate.

  22. They only have 17 months… that’s when WW3 starts in Star Trek.

  23. I thought we got peace for our generation when we let Russia to invade Crimea… /s
