Hi, I just found this bird in my walls. I initially thought it was a rat or something since it was making lots of noise in the attic (from 7 in the morning until earlier) but eventually it fell down from a small hole right into my office. Fortunately I haven’t renovated yet so I managed to remove the wooden wall and free it🥺. I didn’t know if I should go to a veterinarian or just let it fly away. When I did go outside and opened my palm it didn’t wanna go at first but then it took off. Was wondering what type of bird it could be.

  1. A common swift. Probably a youngster from this year. Fun fact, theses birds can’t walk and spend most of their life on the wing. They only have to land to build nests, and breed, but otherwise can spend months or years without landing.

  2. A bit hard to tell from the picture, but perhaps a Swallow. Does it have short legs?

  3. He definitely holds a grudge against you judging by his look 😉

  4. Whatever bird it is, we should rename the species to ‘Side-Eye’.
