I tend to think if this kind of thing catches on and becomes widespread it isn’t a good direction for us to be going in, we don’t want to be like the USA where one political side has one set of news channels/media and the other side has their news channel/media. Looking at America’s news media you would think the two sides were reporting on two totally different countries. Neither side cares about objectivity or truth, it is just propaganda to get you to vote one way or the other.
Better to appear on GB News and put an alternative view forward so that their audience actually hears another side.
The correct response is to accept but then not show up.

No need to make a political point about it. But it gets him in the news and unfortunately that seems to be the point for most of these celebs.
It’s not like anyone is watching GBNews as it is. No on would have noticed if he had appeared on it.
Not engaging with those you disagree with does not expand your understanding or nor endear yourself to others not associated.
Mark Kermode did similar on Twitter and then Mark Dolan dedicated a full 5-minutes on his GB News show to whinge about it; sure we can expect a rant on Rayner soon.

I’m more pissed that Barry Cryer dies last week and I have only just heard about it…
I know someone who is regularly asked to appear on GB/Sky as ‘the alternative view’. She did try once. They treated her appallingly on and off air. Then her charity and her get trolled by the viewers.

I mean… As if anybody was taking GB News as an actual source of news – they had a Winston Churchill impersonator into the studio and asked hm questions as if he was in fact Churchill…
