Germany shuts down ‘Blue Mosque’ over alleged links to Hezbollah

   German police have raided one of the country’s oldest mosques as they launched a crackdown on Islamic extremist groups with links to the [Iranian regime](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2024/05/26/the-rotten-iranian-regime-is-on-the-edge-of-collapse/).

   On Wednesday morning, police officers in balaclavas descended on the Imam Ali mosque, also known as the Blue Mosque, in Hamburg to confiscate cash and a black Audi vehicle.

   [Nancy Faeser](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/world-news/2023/10/15/hamas-germany-jewish-people-anti-semitic-attack-israel/), the German interior minister, announced that she was banning the organisation that runs the mosque, the Islamic Centre Hamburg [IZH], as it was an “extremist” group.

   [German police](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/world-news/2024/06/20/german-police-arrest-islamic-state-agent-standby-attacks2/) also raided 53 properties in eight German states as they targeted other buildings owned by IZH and its sub-organisations.

   For months, German security services have been investigating IZH for alleged close links to Iran and the Lebanese group Hezbollah, as well as “pursuing anti-constitutional objectives”.

   The interior ministry has accused the group of spreading [anti-Semitism](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/antisemitism/) and pro-Iranian revolutionary values “in an aggressive and militant manner”.

   [Iran](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/iran/) is a big regional supporter of Hezbollah, providing it with large quantities of weapons via Syria and training expertise.

   “Today we have banned the Islamic Centre Hamburg, which propagates an Islamist, totalitarian ideology in Germany,” Ms Faeser said after the raid.

3. If these ties are true, how on earth did we let it stay for so long?

   There was an investigation and they found evidence, otherwise they would not have shut down the Mosque

8. Islam is a colonialist ideology. The only thing that separates it from a cult is the number of adherents.
