  1. So, by saying people shouldn’t complain, he:

    > did not intend to imply people shouldn’t complain……..

    Ted, I’m hugely confused.

  2. Can I come live with you Seen Fleming? When I can no longer afford the rent or to feed my family? You’re making such great savings yourself, surely you can take in a few strays.

  3. He’s not apologising because of what he said,
he’s apologising because of the backlash to it.

I mean these career politicians can literally expense all their fuel/car costs and a huge part of their bills, on top of their huge salary. No way they understand what its like for the average person

  4. Get in the fucking robot Shinji, and get ready for the opinion rebuild:

Politicianlyion: 2.0 You Should (Not) Complain

  5. He can still fuck off. He really rubbed me up the wrong way with that comment about shopping around for health insurance, health insurance is a luxury i can’t afford! Fuckin stupid arsehole!

  6. Junior minister, no wonder it feels like the policies in our country are made by really old man.

  7. This guy hasn’t had a job for a quarter of century.

Fianna Fáil in particular, and the Government in general, are so woefully out of touch with the common person in Ireland today that they’re sitting on an absolute tinderbox.

Quite how a man who thinks the appropriate response to the cost of living crisis is to tell people that they should just make an effort to be less poor is still a Minister _in the Department of Finance_ this morning is extraordinary. It shows how completely out of touch Micheál Martin (last day at work: 1989) is that he thinks this guy can continue as a Minister.

  8. > did not intend to imply people shouldn’t complain

    he said ‘people shouldn’t complain’.

i’m so fucking sick of these lazy, cash grabbing, useless bastards on incredible salaries doing fuck all for the country, when the people who actually give a shit are constantly sidelined. we need a change, this prick is the epitome of why.

  9. Seems like a good time to remind the sub that our utility regulator is paid by the scumbags going balls deep on us, and haven’t delivered a serious fine in recorded history.

The CRU are directly responsible for all of this, and are complicit in the gouging. That no one brings them up in these conversations is bizarre.

  10. The major issue isn’t the possible offence caused, it is that a junior minister has such a misunderstanding of a big problem

  11. I’m telling you, this is what happens when you let rich people run the country. They can’t relate to struggle so their suggestions are obviously out of touch. Yeah you can shop in Lidl and aldi, I think everyone is already. That’s obviously not going to fix everything else.

  12. We should, however, shop around for better leadership… Instead of complaining. Vote these clowns out!

  13. Lads I’m not about the whole cancel culture but I’d like to see the likes of this lad be held accountable for saying something like this. Like how can you say that with the price of living right now and the amount of different crisis we are living through, it’s actually hard to believe that he would say that but just goes to show what these guys really think behind it all. I’m sure he was just echoing reterick that is used in private by him and his cronies and either forgot himself or was acting the big lad.
