That’s going to be a nasty fight.
*while ground meat would be banned entirely*
Guess I’m not entirely against this then.
“delicacy” ??? It’s fast food. What’s next? Germany’s bratwurst are a delicacy?
Turkish civil war 🙁
May Mehmet, Berlin come out victorious.
I don’t understand how Germans can claim such a tasty food with the cooking skills that they have
First ever Doener was served in Berin. Nothing more to add
At least change the name if you’re going to attempt stealing it. It’s like saying Schnitzel is Chinese food.
If it wasn’t for Turkish immigrants, the first Doner wouldn’t have been sold in Berlin. On the other hand, I always had better Donners in Germany than in Turkey (maybe I didn’t know the right spots).
When turks were eating first döner, germany was not even a country 🙂
We had WW for tremendously stupid reasons, but the imagination of this diplomatic side note escalating and being the reason for number 3 is somewhat hilarious
Most Döners here are “Drehspieß”, so what’s the point? It’s already regulated to the brim.
who gives a fuck what its called? you called it doner kebab all your life, and now if they have to change the name to “incredible turkish delight meat on a spike” or some shit like that, you’re still gonna call it donner kebab.
nobody should care about it and nobody will earn less as you will still go to the same guy you went for years, even if his place is not called Ibrahims Doner Kebab anymore, but Ibrahims Shoelaces & Meat.
Call it what you like, I’ll just get what tastes good while not being outrageously expensive.
> [The modern sandwich variant of döner kebab originated and was popularized in 1970s West Berlin by Turkish immigrants. This was recognized by the Berlin-based Association of Turkish Doner Manufacturers in Europe in 2011.](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doner_kebab)
Fuck this might become a serious political issue, could even turn into a casus beli.
