I don’t like this at all. He’s old and slow as shit, and only fits certain systems that we most definitely do not play. He was also on pretty high wages (140k/week) and is known to have some attitude issues. Obviously, in a vacuum, I’d prefer him over Vallejo any day of the week, but we can surely do better even for stop-gap options. They’re not the best options, but either of Pepe, Ramos, or Varane would be so much better than him.
Nah. He was good in UCL but was not that great in the Bundesliga. So with potential 71 game season coming, i don’t think hummels would be the best choice as a backup.

He trashed his dortmund coach, causing a power struggle. He was dropped from the NT in the Euros due to simply not accepting a secondary role and he had an old feud with Carlo. So I don’t think we’ll sign him.

i like hummels. serious defender. would help the team as a squad player, even if it’s just for one season.
I think this would be great for us. Obviously short term solution to address our CB shortage but he’s a vet who’s played at the highest levels. Him and Rudiger have NT experience together, him and Alaba played together at Bayern. Kind of reminds me of Alaba and Joselu signings. Militao, Rudiger, Alaba (when he’s back) and Hummels is a solid CB rotation imo

There’s a reason Hummels has been excluded from the German national team, and even at Dortmund, he had clashes with Terzić, with strong rumors about it.
If Perez and Sanchez are not willing to spend big on young CB’s then at least they should look for veteran Cb like Ramos or Pepe who will definitely comeback for one last dance if perez makes a call but sadly this will never happen and we will most likely have a CB depth of alaba , tchou, Carvajal and Vallejo which imo is just a poor depth and may come back to haunt us if we Rudiger gets injured or suspend before a big game.

Wouldn’t mind him tbf but generally a player in his situation (getting on in age, free agent) does not sign a short term contract like the club would want to offer him. They know it’s their last chance at a big paycheck. I hope he wouldn’t mind of course, he’d be an excellent addition, but history has shown the odds are not in our favor here.

We keep flexing this club make billion last year but don’t have enough money to buy new CB meanwhile Arsenal signed Calafiori for 35 mil pounds 😀😀😀
