Despite fears of intraparty chaos and disarray, the Democratic Party’s election shift from Joe Biden to Kamala Harris has been impressive.

  1. You know maybe this whole “dems in disarray” was never actually a real thing

  2. Just wait until the attack adds start. They’re highly bothered by her laughter. Like how could she express basic human emotions?

  3. Disarray is trump and the GOP, guys. Dysfunctional, corrupt, do nothing government is all Trump and the GOP. Democrats have their own problems, but they’re at least professional and actually take the job seriously. Unlike Trump and company using government like an amusement ride they’re not going to pay for.

  4. Anyone who starts huffing their own farts here and thinking Kamala is inevitable: first, slap yourself. Then, link up with a voter registration org and put in a Saturday of volunteering.

This is *good news*, but *never* underestimate America’s racism and misogyny. If she’s not up by 10-15 in every BG, its not a big enough margin.

  5. The 48-hours after Biden dropped out was so crucial. A quiet couple of days would have been absolutely devastating because it would have made the move look weak as hell and cast so much doubt over a party without a leader to campaign for, but he endorsed Kamala immediately and got the ball rolling. The momentum generated from that was insane. It was perfect.

  6. “Dems in Array” is a fantastic headline. You never hear that word used like “disarray” is, just like you never hear “aster” as the antonym of “disaster,” but it fits so well and this is such a good time to use it.

Edit: Before I get yet another message, I’m well aware of the etymology of “disaster.” Enjoy the minor mirth instead of engaging in semantics!

  7. Let’s go!! It’s crazy how just a week ago Dems were in the pit of despair, and now it feels like Obama 2.0 and republicans are shitting their pants like Donald Trump.

  8. Now it’s time to unleash her on the pedo felon, racist carebear, and the hulk to see who is truly king of the ring

  9. “Shout out to the staffers in Delaware who just lived through the most stressful five weeks in campaign history, then flipped every piece of branding and content on a dime, raised $100m, recruited 58,000 volunteers, and generally just lit the internet on fire for Kamala Harris.”

  10. Trump may be a hater – but he is also a uniter, not a divider.

He has an amazing ability to unite people against him.

  11. lol even the corpo media is freaking out. They are really trying to push “democrats like the choice. Here’s why that’s bad for the candidate”. Again lol get fucked media, the American people want a functioning boring government not your endless fishing for clicks

  12. I was apprehensive but I like everything I’m reading this week. Well done democrats.

  13. And why?

Because America finally has actual hope.

People were terrified of a Trump dictatorship and now everyone is excited.

  14. When a party has actual competent adults running things and not fucking Donald Trump.

  15. There’s nothing like an existential threat to cause a group to set aside minor differences for a while.

  16. I was a fervant Biden supporter. I believe he’s been an excellent president. I thought he should stay solely to avoid chaos but I have to admit that this could not have gone better. The Dems have taken something chaotic and used it to not only select an excellent candidate but also explore issues of race and sexism constructively and gotten millions of people engaged.

I am 100% team Kamala! And proud my daughter will get to vote for our first female president in her first election.

  17. This was unbelievably smooth. I’m genuinely impressed.

  18. It feels good to feel good about Kamala. I don’t want this to be taken the wrong way because I really like Joe Biden as a person and a president…I never felt he would steer this country in the wrong direction, and he hasn’t. But after watching the last few weeks of events unfold, very frustrated about it all…it’s so nice to feel optimistic again. Hopeful, even.

  19. I was nervous about Joe dropping out, I was afraid Kamala wouldn’t be a good candidate and I was frustrated the Dems weren’t as lockstep as the Rs. Now I’m very happy about the situation and look forward to giving Harris my vote. Kamala’s handling of bibi makes me cautiously optimistic about a lot of things.

  20. I am happy to admit I underestimated the Democratic party. My worries about Biden stepping down weren’t so much about no one else being fit, but rather about what I thought would turn into an civil war inside the party.

I was wrong, and they must be commended for their unity.

  21. Shocking how the man without an ego can pass the torch to the next generation.

Many years ago before the 2020 election Biden referred to himself as a bridge president, and I was always holding out hope he’d sit this one out. I’m glad he’s thought about this and has the capacity to take off the crown.

  22. It’s refreshing when a political party acts like a real political party and not a cult of personality

  23. 100% they rope a doped the Republicans, had this planned for weeks and waited for all the big news out of the Republican camp occured so they could swoop in and steal the news cycle. DNC is less than a month, which will likely steal majority of the news cycles until Labor Day.

Until then we got former (and current) fat kids Donald Trump and couch fucker JD Vance tripping over each others feet around Project 2025

  24. It’s because Harris will be a much better president than Trump. She was vetted as VP, voted into office as VP. And there’s also something symbolic with the first women likely to hold the office of president coming after the repeal of Roe, which happened because idiotic, I mean “independent” voters, thought the failed businessman and reality TV star was better than the last highly qualified and experienced woman that was nominated.

  25. When I stepped back and looked at how things were going and how fast the support has swelled and erupted for Kamala, I wouldn’t be surprised if Joe is feeling relief. To be his age and feel that the fate of democracy is riding solely on his shoulders at his age is overwhelming. Once he agreed to pass the torch and he saw how much support she was getting, I could see it being this huge weight lifted from him.

To be so heavily involved in frontline politics for as long as Biden, has to be mentally taxing. He can serve out the remainder of his term and be effective and then ride off into the sunset. Enjoy retirement and know he did his best, rather than feel like he put the US in a bad situation.

  26. I am sure in a few years we will get all the details of how Nancy Pelosi worked behind the scenes for weeks (if not months) to help pull this off.

She is the only democrat with enough pull and political savviness to ensure that a change of this magnitude can be brought forward will be successful.
