  9. I could understand it while we were in Afghanistan but what point is there in sending money to Pakistan now? They have border skirmishes with all their neighbors sure but there aren’t any real wars going on. They’re not interested in liberalization and indeed have many social problems they have no interest in solving. So I don’t think funding would help them reform their society, it didn’t help in Afghanistan. I hardly see how some more money to Pakistan serves our interest. And I wish the funding would be cut.

  21. Unfortunately, Pakistan is the most likely avenue in which a rogue player would get their hands on a nuclear weapon. As distasteful as it is sending money you know will likely be wasted, stability should be the number 1 priority there.
